2. Bought a Barefaced Midget cab from Dunc and he was kind enough to drop it off at my house! Absolute pleasure to deal with, cheers!
3. I'm the original owner and it's a gorgeous bass. And an absolute bargain I must add! If it was 4 strings I would still own it - but unfortunately it has one too many and that's why I got my Krell... Good luck with the sale! 4. Hi all, apologies in resurrecting a month old thread but I've only spotted it recently. I do all the web design & graphic design for GBBL and therefore know GBBL & Drew pretty well, hopefully I can clarify a few things. From Drew himself: __ "GBBL does not sell Thomann hardcases per se, we stock them (either the tolex covered wood ones or the ABS moulded ones) for the sole purpose of shipping basses that do not come with a hardcase. There's no profit made on the cases which are offered to the customer at cost price. It is simply to facilitate a safe delivery which is surely in the buyers and sellers best interest. Customers aren't certainly not charged for packaging materials or time in packaging a bass up, booking the courier etc etc." __ Hope that helps a bit. If a bass doesn't come with a case (and a lot don't) Drew will make every effort to get it to the customer safely and well packaged. There's been £3000+ Wals shipped to Australia, £2000 Warwicks to USA, etc and no issues so far! Any questions, just ask. Tom
5. Still for sale. People on Gumtree are strange, haha!
6. Thanks for the comments guys. Unfortunately I don't have an accurate weight - it's a good lump of wood though so I can't image it'll be under 9lbs.
7. Just remembered... Drew at Great British Bass Lounge has a fretless ACG in stock at the moment: http://greatbritishbasslounge.com/product/acg-recurve-fretless-custom/
8.
I see you also have am ACG krell whats that like, Im very tempted to order a fretless from Alan!!
It's absolutely brilliant! It has a flat (0 radius) fingerboard, an asymmetric neck and the Krell shape balances really well - I love mine, I'd never part with it. Every time I play a different bass then go back to the ACG it's like coming home, if you know what I mean!
9. Try Alpher Instruments from Yorkshire. I have a custom fretless which they built for me last year. Lovely slim neck and 16mm string spacing. Really good price too. Alpher.co.uk
10. Hi all, I'm selling my fairly recently acquired Stage II. Saving up for the dreaded house deposit so last one in has to be first one out. It's a 2004 model so has the afzelia & ovangkol though-neck rather than wenge. The previous owner changed all the hardware to black which looks far better in my opinion and I added a proper Warwick brass nut. Afzelia body wings, 3-band EQ, J-style pickups, all Warwick black hardware. Everything works as it should - it plays like a dream and sustains for days! When people mention the "Warwick Growl" it's the Stage II they're talking about: this thing is a beast! It's in great condition for a 11 year old bass; a few light scuffs here and there and there is a small chip on the top of the headstock (pictured). It comes with the flight case, the original gold hardware and the truss rod tool. I'm not looking for any trades for this, just the cash so please don't offer. Any questions just ask. 11. Ian bought my jazz bass. He arranged a courier & I just had to pack it & wrap it. Sorry it took so long to find a box! Pleasure to deal with & would do so again without hesitation! Cheers mate, enjoy the bass.
12. Sale pending. I don't have any sound clips unfortunately. Although it does just sound like a quality jazz.
13.
Thanks for the info and pictures to come Descendent, It would be appreciated.
Hi Noisyjon - full shots for you:
14.
Hi Descendent, A few questions please: Do you have some pictures of the full bass, front & back, we could see? How come there's a larger than normal gap between the pickguard and control plate where you see the cavity below? Can you give us an accurate weight? Thanks, Jon
Hi Noisyjon, I can certainly take a couple of full shots of the bass for you, no problem. Would have to be in a day or so when I get chance. Re: the gap beween the controls and the pickguard - I was a bit annoyed at this initially. It's a Fender body, a Fender pickguard and standard controls so I have honestly no idea why there's a gap there. I set the bell-plate and pickguard in place before I drilled any holes and where they are is the only place they could go. The pickguard just slots in over the pickups so no movement there and the wired-in pots under the bell plate were flush against with the end of the cavity. I can't give you an accurate weight unfortunately as i don't have any scales (apart from kitchen ones!). I have owned a few basses in my time and would estimate it being 9lbs give or take. I currently have an Alpher (which is lighter) and an ACG (which is heavier at 9.5lbs) so there's some comparison I can make. Hope that helps. Cheers.
15.
Some price drop!
I know! I realised £700 was probably way too optimistic in the current climate. Plus I'm moving house soon so I need the extra room so I compromised in the hope of a quick sale.
16. Cameron's Dirty Blonde belonged to me once upon a time & I fully agree with him. The Dirty Blonde is quite lightweight and has none of the growl the standard Warwicks have. I have a Streamer Stage 2 which I have at C standard tuning and it's a complete evil monster. Perfect for heavy stuff in my opinion.
