Just picked this up in Sydney city centre, was in need of something cheap and portable and bam! Sorted. This thing is awesome. So much fun to play and actually sounds pretty damn good. The Sterling 5's have the exact same pickup and electronics of the Stingray 5's that came before them = solid fuk'n bass tone. Stingray 5's now have actual Stingray electronics (pretty much)

I agree with you on the Qtron and DOD there. I've just got my hands on the Moog LPF which is phenomenal - funkiest I've experienced by a long shot. I think it is often overlooked because it's marketed as a 'synth module with endless capabilities when connected via CV to other moogerfoogers and control voltage equipment'. Forget that, it's FUNK in a cool box It ain't cheap, but it ain't Mu-tron money either.

I bought a Moog Low Pass Filter last week - this thing is ludicrous. I've owned all sorts of envelope filters and this one is the king. It is so warm, thick and squelchy, but it can do theremin and laser gun sounds. Couldn't recommend it enough. Getting an expression pedal today!
