  1. Overall standing height (no pin) 178cms String/scale 104cms body length 106cms
  2. Top of the line Stentor, carved front, carved wood back; set up by luthier with pirastro strings. Ready to gig with low action, includes bow and soft case. Details here: https://caswells-strings.co.uk/product/stentor-elysia-double-bass/ some minor marks but overall excellent condition
  3. I love gigging, but avoid playing music I don't like. I managed to filter out the gigs that really whizzed me off and now I gig regularly but not too much. I do sympathise though with that feeling of losing the thrill - my advice is to only do gigs that you are proud to be doing and that are well rehearsed.
  4. CORRECTION: Having used a different system- case with bass and case without bass it comes to 4.2 kilos, much more realistic. When I hung it off the luggage scales by the neck it said 3.06. My apologies.
  5. Excellent Bass, bought from Bass Direct and gigged quite a lot, always kept in the case. Am not using it anymore and need to move it on. Beautiful finish, a couple of cracks in the gloss which I have highlighted, otherwise in really good condition. Includes original case (one of the latches is broken) and metal pickup and bridge covers. All original except for the screw in the strap button. Weight 4.2 kilos If you are genuinely interested and need any more pics let me know.
  6. Still available - an excellent working bass.
  7. German double bass probably made in the 70’s in East Germany. Great gigging bass, have used it a lot with a realist pickup (not included), stays in tune and amplifies well. Had a neck repair at some point but still plays beautifully and totally stable. Just been set up by luthier with d’addario helicore strings. Really good condition and comes with a soft case.
  8. What is the wood on this? Can you describe it please- I have the same bass, which is an amazing instrument, but not sure if it’s walnut. Thanks, that is on hell of a bass. GLWTS
  9. Great Cab which I have used a lot in all kinds of gigs. Loud, punchy and only 16kg. 4x6 inch speakers - do the maths, it the equivalent of 2x12. Not sure about the tweeter......Very cool...
  10. Might be interested in Roscoe 4 string
  11. Up it goes- offers considered.
  12. 18mm string spacing at bridge, ebonu fingerboard, for more info I would have to write to Ken Smith as there seems to be very little information re this model.
  13. thanks....Still waiting for a straight sale....
  14. Ken Smith Through Neck 5MS in really good condition, a couple of marks here and there but nothing serious. No issues with this bass, it plays beautifully with a really low action. I just prefer my 6 string Ken Smith when I need a low B. Case is in immaculate condition and comes with Ken Smith Strap. It needs a good home, its a wonderful bass made of really dense wood but weighs only 4.5 kilos. Its magnificent.
  15. Not for sale anymore, pls withdraw
  16. Welcome to come and try it out.
  17. As far as I can tell: this is a 3 piece neck, not 5 piece, and the hardware is chrome. Apart from that, I can’t see much difference.
  18. 4.5 kilos , doesn’t feel that heavy though, and I’m an old timer.
  19. Thanks for the correction, 5MS it is.
