  1. Makes me think there's scope for a whole new sub-forum, "Pbasschat".
  2. Don’t talk to me about bloody British Gas..... Small world though, I used to live in Coleorton
  3. Someone has taken the sharp things away from him, haven't they? Haven't they? Why haven't they?
  4. Cheese at bedtime mainly
  5. Thanks Hooky. I’ve been wondering about half rounds for a while and was tempted to try a set - you’ve just saved me £36! Thats cold comfort to you, I know, but you can take heart from knowing that you’ve just performed a valuable consumer service!
  6. This. He can’t see past this and recognise that you’ve actually done him a favour. He should see that what he’s paid out was a reward for the recovery of his bass. What he’s actually thinking is that he’s just paid to buy a bass he already owns. Given time, he might come round - but, frankly, why should you care? You’ve done the decent thing. You’ve reunited the bass with its original owner. You didn’t have to do that, but you did. So move on and let him come round in his own sweet time. To paraphrase what Andruca says, the people you do a good deed for don’t have to be nice people - but that shouldn’t stop you being a nice person yourself.
  7. Nice picture. Keep the tour diary coming - we can tour Europe vicariously with you 😀
  8. Or, put another way, you have to suffer a lot of pricks before you touch the rose. never understood that myself, but mother used the phrase a lot
  9. OK, so you have the bass sorted. But now you get to put all that GAS energy into amps, cabs, lighting, PA, set list software, clothes, shades, hairstyle, image consultants, a new laptop..... You may have won a battle, but the war ain't over by a long way.....
  10. It's got fleas....
  11. Thank goodness for that - back on topic! Thank you, sir PS you're wrong, you know. If it's red, it has to be a nice, heavily-flaked candy apple red.....
  12. All good solid advice here and no need to put yourself under unnecessary pressure. Look at the positives here. They headhunted you. They've seen you and they want you. You, my friend, are their choice out of all the other bass players out there. Use that knowledge, use the adrenaline and enjoy the process of getting up to speed in a really good band who chose you to join them. Itll be hard work - but anything worthwhile always is. Have fun
  13. You're only jealous because the Teebs-meister can pull that look off....
  14. That's brilliant. And they are the perfect match for each other! I take it that the picture is one of your promo shots? You look gooooodddd
  15. It's pretty right enough, but a bugger to find a decent outfit to go with it.
  16. It seems tough but it's the only decent thing to do. Good on you. Hopefully, the pawn shop have the details of the guy that pawned it - who may be the lowlife who nicked the thing in the first place.
  17. Bleedin’ youf today, got no bleedin’ manners...national service’d sort ‘em out but the gumment’s too bleedin’ soft, ‘ole damn’ country’s gone ter the dogs.... And that Teebs, he’s the ringleader. Always cheekin’ and answerin’ back....
  18. Right, young man. That's it. Now you say sorry or you're off to bed right now with no more Basschat. D'you hear me? Hmm? Do you? Don't make me come up there....
  19. And you don't need to finish it. They're both very nice.... Now, play nice both of you
  20. Oi
  21. Ooh, that’s nice
  22. Tart
  23. Update: Now sold and collected I'm selling my Fender Bassman 100T amp along with the Neo 410 cabinet and a set of custom Roqsolid covers. The amp was bought new from GAK. The one they initially sent me was faulty and I was sent a replacement direct from Fender. While I was waiting for this to turn up, I needed something for gigs so I bought a Genz Shuttle and I've ended up using that instead of the Fender. As a result, the Fender has only been used at home a few times and is in immaculate condition. The cab has actually been gigged - once - but it's in the same immaculate condition as the amp. I have all the manuals and leads and the footswitch. This is a fantastic amp - two channels, switchable with the included footswitch. The amp also has DI out and the impedance can be switched to allow it to run without a speaker load - this makes it great for recording as you can get all the tube drive without the volume! The amp also has a neat self-balancing feature on the valves which cuts down on maintenance costs. The cabinet is reasonably light considering its a 410. Large castors make it easy to move around and they're easily removed once you're in position so that the thing stays put when you start playing... The covers were ordered new from RoqSolid and are felt lined with covered cutouts for the pockets. They're also in immaculate condition although there may be the odd cat hair as one of ours like to kip on top of the amp.... The amp alone costs £1600 new, the cab is around £750 and the covers cost £150. I'm asking £1,500 (or sensible near offer) for the whole lot.... OK, now the Ts and Cs..... These things weigh a fair bit and I don't have suitable packing materials so I wouldn't be able to pack it which means that it's collection only, folks. Even if you offer to arrange your own courier, I'm afraid it's still collection only - but PM me to discuss options. The upside of this is that it means that you get to try before you buy and if you don't like it, you can still walk away 🙂 I'm based near Cleethorpes but can travel to meet/deliver with a small contribution to cover fuel. Also - and I'm sure you'll understand why - I'm only interested in selling the whole package so I'm afraid that even if you only want the covers, they're still £1500 and you get the amp and cab thrown in 🙂 And finally, I'm not after any trades at this time - soz. I'll post some pictures shortly when I've got them off my phone. Thanks for looking!
