1.
Funny that someone posted a thread about boogie nights earlier! I have just been grooovin on bass to this little belter I didn't know existed until yesterday.......what a song!.....now officially my favourite disco song ever..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glrl4LcvU5g Can anyone recommend any other Heatwave tracks with funky bass in? (except boogie nights!) Sadly it seems the little fella with the falsetto voice was paralysed in a car crash from the neck down in 1979 and died a couple of years ago. Man those cats can grooooooove...dig the dancing
I have the discog and was a bit dissapointed to be honest, they feature on a soundtrack for a film with roger moore in called escape from athena which is a lot better, but is quite rare, boogie nights is great though just for the desending line at the start. The bass player got religion after he had an accident.
2. All that stuff is good 13th floor elevators are pretty good as well similar sort of thing.
3. Speed kills! Shame its so hard to come by these days
4. I love this track at the moment, who played the beautiful fretless on this and what was he using? I have promised myself a fretless this year and this is the first thing im going to christen it with.
5. Anyone like canned heat? Time was is a great bass line,a really groovy band as well.
6. I had a crack at chelsea the other night as part of my plan of stop playing as much disco all the time.I think this bass line is superb, and it is very unusual compared to the way i usually play.I never hear much about bruce thomas but i think i might buy his book on being in the atractions. I dont think he and Elvis costello got on though.
7. Welcome, austria is a beautiful country i stayed in zirl skiing it was really nice.
8. For 990 i think hes going to be waiting a long time.
9. Ill take her!
10. Its hard,my thumb is slim which doesnt help.
11. Why do companys endorse if you are not famous? Im not being rude, but i have never heard of you, your playing is very good but i can play at the same level of bass playing .Does this mean i get free stuff just for being a decent bass player. I have never heard of farida(excuse my ignorance),does anybody famous play there bass guitars? I wish i could get endorsed but i dont think the "public" has heard of me,you must have been in a band who charted or something at least.
12. Does anybody know a company online that sells flamed maple, birdseye maple etc at a decent price? Im looking to do my first build this year and was trying to find the cheapest way of doing this with quality woods.Cheers.
13. Shame its not a real 62,that would be amazing, they must be out there, wish i could do an american pawn shop tour, there must be loads of cool stuff still about in the backwoods.
14.
17th of march must be a red headed girl bassist day haha Z x
She can come to my party!
15. Do a search on highway ones on the forum theres a few people got them on here,a lot of people like them on talkbass as well. The reason they are cheaper is the finish is just a couple of coats of nitro, its designed to relic quickly so it looks used. Its worth it though, make sure you get the second edition highway one rather than highway 1(they are named differently), the former includes the badass 2 bridge.
16. Zenders is the 17th not the 18th.
17.
I love it! it looks cool with the satin finish, the neck needed a lot of tweaking though as i like my action real low,its starting to settle now. It took me a while to get back into the feel of a fender, after using warwick and spectors, but its worth it just for that lovely steely warm tone. Its being pimped next month with an audere preamp and bartolinis. Low price for a u.s. made bass, and it does what it says on the tin.
They just seem to have a darker sound and more power.

19. The ones on my highway one jazz are u.s. alnico,im whipping them out next month for bartolinis, ill sell you them if you want.
20. I think they look the dog,s.But i saw a couple of reviews which said the build quality was good but the neck was a bit chunky, compared to an original 70s jazz,i would be interested to know how chunky.
21. Bump,i will swap for bits or fx or anything interesting, this monolith of a case is taking up to much space in my office so must go.
22. Your better off without them i would never wear spandex for anyone even a fake dave lee roth.
23. 1)No. 2) Play it befor you buy it.
24. Just use sheratons, itll be fine.
25. Have you got any footage of your gigs AM1,it might be easier to analyse what you are doing this way and help you out with your technique.I know what notes im playing just from playing so long and being familiar with a guitars neck, when i play i tend to just know what a note within a mode or scale will sound like,i think its just practice really.Sorry i cant be more help.
