1.
I was not going to post about it because I do not want to sound as if I am criticising the B Amp in any way whatsoever. It is a great piece of kit.
I wouldn't read it as criticism I would read it as a personal taste thing. What works for you might be different for someone else. I have not used Monique but hear good things about it. Would you say this was a battle of old school vs more modern?
2. If that is £600 for the pair then that has to be bargain of the century!
3. Great little amp How's the GAS these days?
4.
Well, we've a couple of warm-up gigs this weekend - with our sound engineer on the desk. He is happy to take a post-eq DI - so I'm happy.
Interesting, I always send a pre eq signal through the DI so that the signal is unaltered, that way any eq that you add or subtract for the room does not affect the signal that the engineer receives.
5.
That's cool, but it was cruel to keep us in suspense!
Was back in the shop yesterday talking to Mark, he said you had bought a B amp but might be returning it? What are you thoughts on it?
6. Just bought a couple of cabs from Paul, great guy to deal with despite being a Saints fan...
7. The wattage will be either 600 or 900 there was no 500.
8. Aren't they made under Brighton pier with b&q off cuts and some out of date hammerite?
9. Behringer make a really nice range of monitors, not quite up to playing the o2 but ok for the local pub. I used one of their personal iem mixers last year it was great.
10. Maybe he's gone for a pea
11.
Although don't expect any answers re:db.
Lol it sometimes gives me a furrowed brow
12. This is a great thread to field your opinions, it is worth monitoring.
13. This thread is the cream of the crop
14. Great cabs and a great price, shocked they are still here!
15.
I presume you mean Massey Ferguson?
What other alternatives are there?🤓
16. You cant chicken out that easily
17. Weekend gig cancelled as vocalist feeling a bit horse
18.
I can't imagine there is a venue on earth that has a capacity of 2500 with monitors worse than your average 500 watt bass rig? The highest live volumes I've encountered have been practice rooms and the quietest have ALWAYS been the biggest venues! I've used a 1x12 cab in front of a few thousand people with no problems at all.
Couldn't agree more, I placed demontfort hall in Leicester a while back with a 112 cab but when jamming at a rehearsal room with a blues trio a 212 was not enough! Go figure🤓
19. Maybe the op should call Alex and ask him😏
20.
I always use IEMs but I still won't play the gig with DB monitors - I need them to hear the match over my IEMs
Do you play Wembley often?
21.
A lot of bass amps do have hpfs... As do a lot of onboard preamps in basses. Some don't. They are the problematic ones. The reason a lot of monitors don't sound great for bass is that they aren't great monitors. Great monitors are great for bass... It's just that great monitors aren't commonplace. It's the first saving to be had in a PA setup. IEMs not good for bass? Me and my JHA Roxannes would argue with you over that til the cows come home. Those IEMs develop more bass than any other setup I've known and enable me to hear everything exactly how I want. There's no wedge that can do that for me. I'd be interested to learn more why you think IEMs don't make sense for bass.
Just out interest do you guys use customs? I have been looking at 1964's they seem all,the rage at the moment.
22.
We play mustang Sally in C, if the venue isn't happy about that they can get another band to play instead.
Blackpool beach?
23. This feels like a game of catfish and mouse
