  1. I use a Gruv Gear Gigblade 2 with my 4005, which is a suitably large bass. My Jack Casady won't fit in it though as that has an unfeasibly large waist.
  2. Now now girls, play nicely. 😉
  3. Running On Empty - Jackson Browne
  4. Don't know, but quite possibly I'd imagine.
  5. The scooters could have built in proximity sensors to detect nearby pedestrians and play a little Seinfeld slap bass solo when in range. It would be effective and brighten up everyone's day.
  6. Bargain if you were local though. It's a local bargain for local people. There's nothing for you here! 😄
  7. Suckerpunch - The Wildhearts
  8. Is anyone going to even make it through January? 😄
  9. Gotta love a P body with a J neck, and with lollipops! That fretboard wood looks really nice too, as does the whole bass. 😎👍
  10. I think the early BBN4 had the 3+1 headstock, the then mk2 and 3 went with a 2+2. It's definitely the correct neck/headstock. It's a great bass. There's a lot of love for all the Yamaha BB range. 🙂👍
  11. Anyone looking for a BB in the Ramsgate area? 11 hours to go, £51 inc case. Ebay linkypoo
  12. On reflection I was being a little flippant. I shouldn't post when in a bad mood. 🙂
  13. Seller can't ship it but you may be able to sort something somehow.
  14. Isn't there an SB700 for sale in the classifieds?
  15. We were in a similar position and our soundman (John) bought a pair of Yamaha DXR 15s (mk2). Very similar stats to the RCF 935 apart from the wattage rating which is roughly double on the RCFs, but they're bi-amped which is possibly the reason for that figure, same SPL figures. We found they were excellent for average pub gigs, he's kept the subs for bigger gigs but due to Covid happening not long after getting them we haven't tried them in a larger setting, so they might be fine. Obviously a different speaker to the RCF but the Yamaha definitely coped fine with the whole band through them (drums/bass/electric guitar/acoustic 12 string/vocals). At the first gig where we tried them, John was nervous (he gets that way) so I said I'd bring my amp and set it up but keep the volume off, then if the Yamahas didn't cope I could just turn it up. When I got there he'd also set up the subs in case (as I said, he gets panicky). Anyway towards the end he brings a punter up on stage behind me. Afterwards I ask who he was. He was someone in a another band who had commented to our John what a great sound we had, best he'd heard for a long time. John had told him it was all through the tops, no subs or backline. He had to show him my volume was completely off for him to believe it was all out of the Yamaha DXRs. As I said, different, but comparable speakers, so might be of help, and going by popularity and specs, I'd guess the RCFs would be even better.

  19. Awesome headstock decal! Beep beeeeeep. Not just the headstock decal though, overall it's perfect. I could happily rock(steady) that. 😎👍

  23. Yes that's right, well some folks will get all uppity and correctly say we're talking about compliance, but everyone knows what we mean. It seems odd because changing to strings with more tension usually means the neck will bend more and raise the strings off the board, and the opposite with lower tension. If the strings are sitting lower this would indicate the strings have, in fact, a lower overall tension than the Rotosound's, but maybe feel stiffer due to construction. I'd certainly like it if Cobalts were a fairly high tension.
  24. I want to try some Cobalts but I really do not like anything even approaching low tension, which I thought the Cobalts were. It's odd that you consider them higher tension than your old Rotosound's yet the strings are sitting closer to the board, which surely would indicate a relaxing of the neck due to less tension on it? I may have to just bite the bullet and try a set.
