  6. Hot Hot Hot - The Cure
  7. The one local to me has just sold. I had yesterday and today off work and decided if it was still there tomorrow then I'd pick it up on the way home. Shame really as ever since I've seen the Warman quad rail pickups, I've fancied putting a pair of them in something. If the pickups aren't great in these then it would have made a great recipient. This is/was it.
  8. Take it Easy - The Eagles
  9. Black Coffee In Bed - Squeeze
  10. It reminds me of the 'World Of Sport' logo. Ahh, Dickie Davies on Saturday afternoons, endless summer holidays, jumpers for goalposts, blah blah blah.
  11. But what could possibly be the point in buying a bass that you don't need? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣... ...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  12. I know I shouldn't, because although myself and @ambient have had bad experiences with Craig's Music I'm sure plenty of others have happily dealt with them. They've been there a long time so must be doing something right. But... get an image of Ricky Gervais' David Brent in your head and then watch this. I really can't work out if it's a genuine worker trying to promote the stock, or a guerilla mockumentary.
  13. I think it's more to show the scale of the bag against the bass. Unless the bass has an absolutely enormous lower bout it looks like it'll fit nicely. 🙂
  14. The closest music shop to me. I've been playing for nearly thirty years, I've been once, once was enough! I had to wait while he dealt with the customer before me, not a problem. Once the customer left he started to slag the customer off to me. Then asked what I was after. It was probably 10/15 years ago and I'd never tried flats. I said, "I'd like to try some flats on my P bass to see what they sound like". He replied, "They'll probably sound shit." Well thanks for your insight Craig. I buy all my strings online now.
  15. @ribbetingfrog Yours looks great. How does it sound, have they scrimped on the electrics or are they OK? What style neck is it, more P or J?
  16. I've just seen one for sale locally, sonic blue with the two part cream pearloid scratchplate and chrome jazz style control plate. I don't need it but it looks ace, they want £60 for it. I might cave in. 😁
  17. All starting with a flat EQ, Rock, low mid boost plus a bit of overdrive. Spandex advisable. Funk, low mid boost and clean. Wah thrown in to taste if needed. Something sparkly a necessity. Jazz, high mid boost and clean. Black turtle neck and gaulois. Slap, low boost, mid slight cut, high boost plus compression. Very short strap. Punk, low mid boost plus a bit of overdrive. Very long strap. Motown, low mid boost and a foam mute. Shit man, wear what you want, you'll be the coolest mofo in the room whether you or anyone else realises it if you're playing bass to Motown tunes!
  18. The Love Below - Andre 3000
  19. Nazi Punks F**k Off - Dead Kennedys
  20. Making Your Mind Up - Bucks, and quite lidderaly Fizz great mate!!
  21. Prayers for Rain - The Cure
  22. Love Potion Number Nine - Tygers of Pan Tang
  23. Have you tried & D'addario half rounds? It sounds like we like the same strings tonally, and after wanting dead rounds, or bright flats I found 'my string', the D'addario ENR72. Dead round tone straight out the packet, smoother feel than rounds and they don't seem to change in tone no matter how long you've had them on.
  24. Shiver and Shake - The Cure
  25. I recall the Behringer BDI 21 has some suggestions in the instructions as to where to put the knobs to roughly emulate some classic amp styles, helpful if you're new to all this. Just set the controls as suggested for an Ampeg SVT and go for it. (But by all means fiddle with your knobs to experiment.)
