  4. £100 price drop Handmade by a guy at A1 Music in Manchester in 1992. Fitted to a Mighty Mite P Bass body originally. Feels more like a jazz neck lovely Birdseye maple and a satisfying shape from the neck wood to fingerboard, hard to capture in photos issues the d an g holes were cut a little too big so had been packed with some tape for a good fit the g slot on the nut is to low the finish has worn on the back and there is a mark/dent on the front of the headstock happy to provide measurements and answer questions and here offers or traded

  9. Zoom bass multi effects pedal BFX 708 ***price drop*** £50 price includes postage boxed with psu and manual home use only and in great condition. You can see the display looks scratched but this is the original plastic cover that I never bothered taking off an amazing range of editable and useable sounds including amp simulators. Really good for practicing and recording. They don’t make em like this anymore. Made in Japan too
  10. Pm sent
  11. The current spacing is 17mm and is at the limit of the roller adjustment on the bridge. It is very easy to play When I got the bass over 25 years ago the previous owner had stripped the body and painted it purple. With purple paint and varnish! I stripped it and finished with a dark oak furniture varnish. On reflection that wasn’t the best idea but it was cheap and it looks ok. I wanted it to look like a Wal bass. I think a pro finish would make all the difference to this bass as I think it is a real classic and probably sought after. Sunburst could be the way to go but I am not sure. Still debating it
  12. Just that he had never noticed any reduction in volume on the E. Get the string adjusted over the pickup and adjust the pu height until everything sounds good. To be honest, I have only been using the bass for unamplified noodling for years, only taking to gigs when I could squeeze it in somewhere. I mostly play double bass. The strings I had on there sounded great apart from the low E, which I didn't really realise for some reason. Also, I was trying to set this bass up with 19mm spacing, which was too wide Now I am debating getting the body refinished by Doug, which would improve the looks a lot.
  13. Thanks @TheG it is all the things you say it is. I am just not using it at the moment. Although I will giving recording with it a go
  14. Ibanez BTB 405QM 5 String Bass £299 plus shipping to UK Trades - swap for Sire 4 or 5 or 4 string Ibanez srh500 Very good condition, just a couple of dings as you can see in the pictures. All works as it should. The mid sweep crackles a bit and the bass could do with some new strings, other than that this a lot of bass for the money. 19mm string spacing 35" scale Active electronics 18V - Bass, Treble and Mid Sweep cut/boost All ready for posting to you... all I need is an address and some money 🤘😀
  15. I just bought a bass so need this gone. On Ebay now for more than asking here Make me an offer
  16. Bump for a nice pickup, bought new from Thomann a while back
  17. I have been in touch with Doug Wilkes. He confirmed that the bass is all original and suggested a few thing to help with the setup. Here it is with original Schaller pickup and TI flats fitted. Sounds and plays beautifully now
  18. @rmorris - what strings? a basic question that I thought would not be an issue. I just did a quick search on another popular bass forum and have found that the Pyramid Gold flats are known to have a dead sounding E string. This may explain a few things, and certainly won't be helping. I'll pop on an old set of TI Flats to see what happens
  19. Moon bass alpha - it is a passive bass with a coil tap switch and an additional piezoelectric pickup. Nice range of tones
