  1. So much dodgy mains around I gave up taking one out. then again I play double bass so way less likely to get fried (I hope) Anyone got a recommendation for a sturdy rucksack to fit amp head and cables, stands etc?
  2. I need a good set of earplugs. Any particular ones recommended?
  3. Thats a great idea. And one for every other small item I own!
  4. Hi Just a bit of fun. Here is my one This little amp stand is so useful. Best £35 I ever spent. Fits in my bag and angles my amp up a lot so I can hear it better. Perfect for those tight little performance spaces https://www.thomann.de/gb/ultimate_amp150.htm What useful stuff do you have that has not cost you a fortune?
  5. That looks exactly like what I want. Cheers
  6. Those both look great, especially the Spark combo. Thanks
  7. Supernaut. Cool name. Amazing album. That could be a good option, as I have an amp/combo already. What do you mean 'with the adaptor"? I am thinking more about sending the phone via bluetooth to an amp then plugging in headphones if needed. I may just stick to playing through a computer with headphones, but am looking to see if there is a lazy person method for noodling in front of the TV (sound down of course)
  8. Hi What amps do you guys use for practice? I am looking for a small amp that has bluetooth. Cheap, easy, small. Battery powered would be ideal This is perfect but too much money for me to spend on noodling while watching TV https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/phil-jones-bass-nanobass-x4-bluetooth/
  9. I use EA amps and cabs (now discontinued) EA micro head is 500W at around 3lbs while the 10" cab with a neo driver is pretty light too. I never really need much more but if I do I have a 4 ohm 12" Whizzy Cab. They were the best for double bass for some time. In fact their iamp 350 head is still considered one of the best amps every made for DB (heavy though)
  10. Sorry sold i forgot to mark as sold
  11. Only used a handful of times. Easy to fit and remove. This was another of my pickup experiments that I don't have time for It has a good body sound and would probably suit bowing well. Price includes postage
  12. J-Tone Big Bass Pickup Currently around £45 on Ebay Pretty much a Bass Max clone. Strong punchy sound and good feedback rejection Good build quality, and easy to fit with some wood or card shims Element is about 3mm-4mm thick I tried it for a couple of gigs then took it off, mainly due to trying other pickups and not being able to have them all fitted at the same time. Price included postage
  13. Purchased from Thomann - current price of £159. (more when I bought it though 🙂) I had listed this a few months ago as it wasn't getting any use but then decided to try it out again just in case. It just doesn't work out on my bass for some reason, although sounded great on some bigger gigs with my Fishman preamp. (but I am far too lazy to take the preamp around with me all the time) Easy to fit but you need bridge adjusters. boxed and as new price includes postage of around £5 tracked
  14. Yes I still have these strings drop me a pm
  15. Thanks for the tip i had wondered about the j tone pickups
  16. Hi Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. Does anyone have a K&K Bassmax pickup that they would like to sell? I am going through a phase of trying out pickups cheers
