I know that one and have used the trace Gp11 with the nail in the board as a volume control limiter. Also had fun with the vocal feedback too. T
They had a great Acoustic bass amp in there for a while with a big folded horn cab from what I remember. I think the two guys that ran it were John & 'Chops'? Always made me smile
Jesus that area brings back memories.
My old neck of the woods too (although i guess on the borders). Lived in High Barnet for a while then East Barnet. There's a rehearsal space right on top of New Southgate Station if you know it?

If you want a school than I can ask my daughter what's available in her area - she's a teacher in Barnet at a nice little school. Good location, just off the North Circ & walking distance from Arnos Grove tube or New Southgate overground.

THESE ARE NOW SOLD! Picked these up in a trade last year but really haven't used them much as I have too many other amps already! The Trace pre has a lovely smooth tone from the pair of valves and the nice interactive passive eq circuit. I've heard that lots of people use these in a studio for recording as the core sound is so nice without any nasty hiss or buzz from the valves. Nice review from Harmony Central : http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...ype+Preamp/10/1 "As a gearhead, I've played through just about every bass amp head, cab, and preamp made in the last 10 years, and many made far earlier than that. The V-type is without a doubt, the closest thing to a compromise I've ever come to between all tube, warm vintage tone, and modern portability. Both live and in the studio, the V-type is the most articulate, natural sounding preamp I have ever used. It's somewhere in between the Aguilar DB680 and the Millenia TD-1 sound wise, but very similar to the Alembic F-1X in design. As a lightweight alternative to the legendary Trace V4, V6, or V8, it's pure, simple, British amp design brilliance." There are some sound clips here : http://www.basstasters.com/preamps/Trace_Elliot_V-Type.html The Sadowsky Vintage 5 without any eq sounds pretty representative to my ears. Really is a lovely piece of kit and deserves to be used regularly The QSC is just a nice simple 2u power amp with lots of typical flexible QSC options and can be used in either stereo of bridged mono modes and runs down to 2 ohms in stero. Power options are: 2 x 200W into 8 ohms 2 x 300W into 4 ohms 2 x 430W into 2 ohms 1 x 600W into 8 ohms 1 x 830W into 4 ohms More technical guff from QSC here: http://www.qscaudio.com/products/amps/rmx/rmx.htm Both items are in fantastic condition, as the pictures hopefully show, and come in a nice shiny rack case. Ideally I'd like to sell everything as a single lot but if there's interest in both items individually then I'll be happy to split them

Paraphrasing: "This item was purchased in 1974". . ."this is a limited edition in the fact that it is from that year". . ."this was purchased as is in the picture". . ."it is all geniune parts as purchased with the guitar". . ."never swapped any parts out". . ."all parts are from the original purchase". . . So obviously not a limited edition in any way shape or form and the claim is that any mods were carried out prior to the current owner purchasing - this may mean pots, pickups etc may all have been modded prior to 1974. -
SVTII is a fantastic head but they weigh a ton (85lbs plus whatever case you put it in). Personally i wouldn't want to be lugging one around to lots of pub gigs, lol. SVP pre-amp with a decent (maybe class D) power amp might work well

I've asked what makes it limited & mentioned that it isn't 100% original becuase of the bridge - let's see what the response is -
Heard this at the Jazz Cafe last night & my feet couldn't stop moving Drifts a bit in places but sounded great wound up really loud. . .
+1 Sometimes more fun than gigging and you don't need to take your gear out of the house.
I'm actually sitting here at the moment kinda doing this - seriously sad about Teddy Pendergrass so I've got his greatest hits album on and am driving the wife slightly crazy playing along with him. Just hit Love TKO - one of my favourites
-
Apart from dredging every single 'find a musician' type website for another band, I'd get my favourite songs queued up and then play along with them all - LOUD. Always works for me
-
I was at the Jazz Cafe last night to see the Haggis Horns. They were good but it was really rammed and not very comfortable (we stood near the back to get the better sound but there was a constant stream of people walking back & forth and the usual crowd who seemed more intent on talking at the top fot heir voices rather than listening to the band, grrr). Highlight for me was actually a guy called Jesse Dee who performed solo at the start & then came on with Corrina Greyson for a few songs.

If you want to see an amazing range of AC's - including some custom colours like this flip/flop purple/blue: or even a spalted maple: the check out Sleek Elite in Japan & look at their sold stock pages: http://www.sleekelite.com/ Some amazing Alembics here as well

I'll 'fess up that this is heading my way soon:
-
I've heard a rumour that two more Allevas are heading over to the UK and straight into the hands of BC'ers. A burgundy mist KPB4 with roasewood board and matching headstock and a sonic blue LG4 with dalbergia negra board and also with matching headstock

Love it, seafoam green is up there with sonic & daphne blue as my favourite classic colours

Hmmmm! am I just suspicious by nature?

Not me - although I was the one that got him to check the date on the neck! -
As I'm not fond of the scratchplate on the normal SR5, I think these are an improvement.
Agree 100% to that. The standard Ray 5 plate makes it not look like a Ray to me - the round scratchplate is all part of the Ray look to me, lol.
