1. Just to point out, price includes P+P
2. These are from the Jazz in my avatar...1999 / 2000? No problems with them, good working order. £25 posted. I'll put pics up if anybody wants to see them cheers Jase.
3. Isn't it great to have some dosh for a bass? 500 quid....have a look in the for sale forum here, one of the finer establishments to buy a bass at
4.
This is some of the point. Original 70's punk was not only about music, it was more about fashion and attitude. Malcolm McLaren loved this and why fashion had such a strong influence on the whole scene. He was also the driving force behind the Sex pistols and the whole image. American punk was more of a backlash from rock which in the 70's had become very boring and soft. Nowadays, if somebody is a punk they can be into anything. From the Sex Pistols, to Green Day, to the Clash, to Paramore, to The Damned, to Hendrix. There are so many different layers that anything goes. I guess it depends on what generation you are from.
Well, I think if it depends on what generation someone is from then punk to me is........ a late 70's early 80's fashion / attitude / teenage rebellion, with very poorly played music. The clip wayne replied with is NOT poorly played but has huge attitude! I don't think Rock become boring and soft towards the late 70's but I can understand people looking for something easier to digest rather than..... for example the amount of pretentious Prog that was around. I actually thought that "Prog" was something I sort of enjoyed until I started digging deeper and found huge amounts of boredom....wonder what "Prog Punk" sounds like.....there's too much in most of Prog for me and far too little in any sort of Punk music. What about the bands that were connected with race issues? Who were they?
5.
Indie? Ash, Feeder and the Manics are not Punk bands.
Manics not punk? I'm no expert but in the early days they looked a little punk like.....didn't they? Punk Rock? So what's the real "punk" cos I've no idea..... punk to me is Sex Pistols and that's it, that's the only punk band I think I'm aware of. What exactly qualifies for punk?
6.
And no, I've not worn it out by.. you know...
It's cramp, not clicking with.... you know...
7. Wish you well mate, hope your recovery goes well
8. "You can communicate ideas reallly easily and interpret those of others with less need for repetitious run throughs and without the logistics problems of endless rehearsals." Oscar Nominee. Yes.......I could've done with this last night, with my original band last night, working on a track which I just couldn't get....In the end sort of got it after about 500 run throughs. I'll still have to put extra effort into learning the part, can't help thinking that if I did have some sort of theory background I wouldn't have spent ages thinking "sh*t, this is impossible"
9. Here's a cool little demo of the 60's classic Jazz: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=kMKj_4DtlQs

11.
I'm looking at these guys...
Right, I see,....they look really nice too actually. Better pickgaurd, tinted neck, 70's logo and it may not buzz like the older Mexican Jazz basses. As with Fender though, upgrades seem to be very subtle.
12. They look really nice the new models.....I take it you're talking about the classic series?
13.
Is this guy back in operation then? I never received any replies to my emails, so I gave up on him.
Haven't a clue what's happened, never been able to track him down....It's a mystery (said witha lisp, like Toyah)
14.
I've left the neck in my house in Italy,so i cannot be 100% sure about dimensions i measured, but ì'm pretty sure that: the nut is 39mm. i don't know the other measures, but basically he copied the modern jazz necks by fender. i will be in Naples from the 30th to the 2nd of feb. if someone is interest i can ship them in that day(or bring them in the hand bag maybe). the 30rd i will post the measures on this topic. if not,i will have to re post the selling in april, when i will be back in Naples again. i don't know how to measure the radius, but basically he copied the modern jazz necks by fender. i will be in Naples from the 30th to the 2nd of feb. if someone is interest i can ship them in that day(or bring them in the hand bag maybe). the 30rd i will post the measures on this topic. if not,i will have to re post the selling in april, when i will be back in Naples again.
Thanks fede.
15. Do you have neck dimensions, radius, heel size, etc
16.
Hi Rob, I'm just curious if you got any kind of response from the Indigo Pilots? I didn't from the PM I sent. Not even a 'Bngger Orf!'.
I pm'd too and found a myspace....not a thing.
17. I used to have a Peavey Centurion, great sounding amp, loved it!
18. I'd avoid it like the plauge, shows Jaco right at the end of his time, his playing is just ok and the advice is neither here nor there. Early Jaco is best to study
19. I'm quite old...but it's all original material by the looks of it..... otherwise I'd be up for a crack at that.
20.
(it was a waste of time on the Precision!)
Exactly! There seems to be no point in them at all, a brighter snappier sound like a Jazz on a P bass? A P bass sound on a Jazz? WHY? It drives me mad! They got it right first time.....two different models...buy one of each, problem sorted. I'm glad they got shot of it, all that's needed now is for the neck pick up on a Jazz to be banned and the bridge pickup to be a souped up to the size of a fat hot humbucker. Still love a Fender though
21. The S1 sort of gives it that almost humbucker sound, it's a poor P bass simulation IMO but it's all down to taste and it's always best to suck it and see!
22. The S1 switch thing again....if you want P bass, then buy a P bass. I don't think my S1 makes my Jazz sound like a P at all. I love both J and P basses....this of course is just my humble opinion, no offence intended whatsoever
23. I'm not a Metallica fan, I like some of the early stuff but I do think James Hetfield is brilliant!
24. Jase
