1. Here's what my pedalboard looks at the moment. C4 and Gemini are the most recent additions.
2. Hmmm. These are all good suggestions for my covers band. Ta muchly. Keep 'm coming... Geert
3. They did indeed.
Disclaimer: By mistake, it has been printed on the back of the ClassicLine 110 and 112 cabinets that they are "Entirely Made In Sweden". This is a cut and paste from the original artwork for the NeoLine mini size cabinets, and should of course been changed to Made Entirely in China, as it says on the large ClassicLine cabinets. We apologize for the misleading information, and advice to check the Certificate Of Origin for accurate information, where all steps in the process are described and where it is executed. No need to say it will also be changed from the next batch to be produced and on.
4. No longer a newbie it says...so I thought I's better show you a pic. Here's me a couple of weekends ago. Cheers
5. Hi, Some beginner lessons here: http://scottsbasslessons.com/technique/right-and-left-hand-positioning.html http://scottsbasslessons.com/technique/right-hand-technique-bass.html Hope it helps, Cheers, Grt
6. So...my amp broke down at last weekend's gig and my local shop provided me with one of these as a loaner until I get my old one back from repair... I must say I'm seriously impressed, even if I have only used it at home and not taken it to any gigs yet. At home I'm afraid to put the volume dial past 8 o'clock - that's already too loud for the neighbors! Next friday I'll be taking it to rehearsal and saturday I'll give it a go at a gig. Had pretty much decided my next purchase would be the Reidmar. Now I'm not so sure anymore.. I do think I'll be loath to give it back after the repairs are done on the old one... Ouch. Anyway, great little monster, sounds pretty smooth with the 2 x EBS Classic twelves... Maybe the only niggle is that it almost has too much bottom end for my taste. We'll see how it goes in a band setting... Cheers, Grtz

8.
Rinus Gerritsen (Golden Earring)
+1 for Rinus Gerritsen. Probably the one guy who made me want to play bass. I knew about him before I knew about any of the others...
9. Who else but a bunch of bass players can name ten bass players off the top of their heads anyway ;-)
10. Jaco Pastorius Charles Mingus Tal Wilkenfield Jack Bruce John McVie John Entwistle Paul McCartney Richard Bona Victor Bailey John Deacon make my Top 10. But I simply need to mention these too: Scott Tunes Jonas Hellborg Todd Smalley Making it close to a dirty dozen.
11. Thanks Paul! I'll have a look for that. Any other recommendations maybe? Cheers
12. Hello all, While I'm watching "Seven Ages of Rock" (not to be confused with Rock of Ages featuring Tom Cruise) I find myself thinking of another music program I used to watch some years back, basically linking all kinds of facts about music, artists and bands in a "family tree". I can't remember the name of the show though, so I thought I'd ask here.. Ta! Grtz
13. I'm not the seller, so he could confirm, but I think the cab weight is 62 lbs. I got that from another ad on BC. It's also an 8ohms cab. Aquilar is top end stuff but indeed the GS range is not light. If you're looking for that you'll probably need to look at the newer DB range. But still a very nice cab for a reasonable price.

15. Only just now found this thread. Like the music a lot. I have only respect for anyone able to write their owns songs. Obviously this is not the finished product, but still let me say I don't care much for how the vocals are recorded. Not sure how you did it, but sounds a bit too artificial to me. Otherwise, very nice job! Cheers, Grtz
16. Thanks Linus. Reading through this thread everyone seems to be very happy with theirs. I did manage to check one out at a local shop and really really liked it. Only concern is how it would perform in my band setting, which I haven't been able to try yet, but it sounded pretty loud indeed. Put some stuff for sale on commission the other day. If that shifts I might just pull the trigger on this one. Thanks again, Grtz
17. I currently own a Warwick ProFet 5.1. I recently bought two EBS 112's and am now wondering about the Reidmar...at 250 watts, is this going to be a step up for me? The Warwick is 500 watts, but doesn't feel particularly loud to me. I do like the sound and don't really NEED to replace it, but well...I guess you get the idea. So, opinions are welcome. The price of the Reidmar is pretty tempting... Cheers, Grtz
18. I have to admit, the trade section here is making me want to move to the UK...lovely bass. Good luck on the sale bump.

BC intro

Hello all, I've been reading this forum for a while now and find it enjoyable and informative. So I thought it's about time I introduced myself, so here goes: I'm a bass player from the Netherlands, and I enjoy playing in bands and at sessions. I've had a hiatus of about 10 years which I regret, but since I started playing again a few years ago I find myself enjoying myself much more. Needed some maturing I guess. I currently play in a band called MrOrange, which is a cover band, playing rock and pop classics. You can find us at https://www.facebook.com/mrorangemusic We recently made a demo cd and are lining up gigs, some of which are fairly large considering we've not been playing together for that long. The demo does help. If you're interested you can listen to the tracks on sound-cloud: http://soundcloud.com/luke-salvatore Also, I made a video for Youtube for one of the songs: Ok, that's enough gratuitous plugging of that band :-) One of the reasons I joined BC is because I wanted to upgrade my equipment and needed some unbiased info. On the strength of the information I read here I recently bought two EBS 112 classic line cabs. I had an old Ashdown mag115, which to me sounded too boomy, hence the changeover. I use a Warwick ProFet 5.1 which I got in a great deal. It does the job nicely for now. Oh, and a bass, yes, I do own a bass. A Squier Vintage Modified Jazz. It plays and sounds great. A picture of the rig (with one cab) & the bass &the band are attached. Talk to you soon, Cheers, Grtz
