1. I have pictures of the wood I choose. I am sure no one wants to see though I am very happy with my choices!
2. Really looking forward to this!
3.
Awesome! Subscribed. RK
Cheers dude. Its very exciting!
4.
Really enjoyed that man! Nice aural assault and a really good mix! I'll look you guys up on Facebook.
Cheers for that dude. Glad you liked it!
5. Boulty is the man and a good friend. i love that guy! We recorded vocals there Boulty mixed it and then Joe Cee mastered. I am going to give your bands a blast later on Gareth.
6.
I was about to say something similar in relation to the hi and lo mid boosts but Alan beat me to it. Owning a newer ACG filter pre and having owned the earlier model I can appreciate how Alan has improved on an already good filter pre amp. Peter
Got to agree with this. I had version 1 of the filter preamp and changed it for a v2 and it is much more focused sounding. Interesting hearing a comparison to the Alembic pre. I own an Alembic buts its an Epic so doesn't have any filters.
7. Cheers guys. Thanks for taking the time to check us out. Graham i will give you a shout if we are ever near you.
8. Cheers for that chaps. Kendall and Leen please let me know what you think . Gareth: thanks for the positive feedback! We work hard to not use a generic sound when it comes to heavy bits. There are so many bands that use beatdowns in the same way we try our best to make it different Also we do love American Psycho! who doesn't!
9. Not quite. Its going to have some semi fret lines on the top of the neck and some under the highest stings under the C and G strings.
10. Just thought i would post this incase anyone is interested. My band Taken By The Tide are having a premiere of our new song "Feed Me a Stray Cat" on the front page of Terrorizer magazine. The magazine describes our sound as: "Ion Dissonance and Meshuggah kicking the living sh*t out of each other atop the wing of a jet plane as it crashes into a Dillinger Escape Plan concert." If you are into technical metal please check it out and give us a like on Facebook. I recorded it using my ACG 7 string bass that is Tuned EBEADGC so if you want to hear what my sub bass sounds like check it out. http://www.terrorizer.com/news/streams/taken-tide-premiere-new-song-feed-stray-cat-terrorizer/
11. Cheers for that Ed. When I use mine live I tend to open both the low pass filters and close the high pass filter. It gives a great cutting sound with a present mid.
12. Well i have ordered a new bass. This will likely be my last custom for a while. I have realised that ACG is the way for me. The choice was simple; Alan's basses, customer service and drive is second to none. This will be my fourth ACG after i bought the first second hand, followed by my custom seven string then a Graft which has sadly departed to make way for this order. The spec is as follows: Krell Singlecut 6 string fretless Black Limba body with Macassar ebony top and a sycamore accent 7 piece asymmetrical neck going Wenge/Ash/Walnut/Wenge/Walnut/Ash/Wenge Lava Bubinga fingerboard Black hardware ACG hipshot bridge Gotoh GB350 machine heads ACG EQ03 4k preamp Overwound singlecoil in the bridge fatboy in the neck Wooden ramp/pickup cover. Pictures to follow in due course
13. It does share a similarity to a Wal preamp. I've never tried a Wal but I dig the flexibility of filters once you get your head round it.
14. I love this preamp! I have been using other basses recently and felt something was missing. I used my ACG Recurve last night at practice with the filter preamp and it was tone heaven. Combined with my Aguilar rig I don't think I have ever been so happy with my tone. Anyone else loving the filter pre?
15. Alan from ACG has built full custom in the past I'm sure it's worth an email to him.
16. Here is a music video for one of my bands Beyond Grace. The track was recorded on my old ACG Graft 5 but my ACG Recurve 6 is in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yZnXcOKq8s Let me know what you think. We had major problems with the recording process so feel it came out well.
17. Might have a new bass in the works . Information to follow when its confirmed .
18. Not long till the bash now. Get involved guys, its a great weekend.

20. Sold an ACG bass to Ian. Could not have gone better. Really smooth transaction and a great guy. Highly recommended Andy
21. New Strings ordered. I am retuning it to B to G tuning and setting it up so if that has put anyone off it won't be an issue after tomorrow.
