1.
Sounds a bit MDP to me.
+1
2.
Thanks! Matting it with sandpaper toned the orange down somewhat, much closer to the Capri Orange I had in mind... And here you go, it's the PDF on this page. There's a bumper load to choose from. http://www.tdpri.com...k-template.html
very cool PDF. Thanks for sharing.
3. http://www.gumtree.c...ery-item-full-3 These any good? the laquer on the headstock looks a bit "fresh" to me. Is this the right decal fo this bass or is it dodgy?
4. It's a Fugazi. I second Old G's decal in the wrong place notion. Also looks like a 2 piece headstock if my eyes dont deceive me.

6.
I don't get why supposedly professional musicians place aesthetics above tonal quality. If you need to look good get the appropriate haircut and rags. If sounding and playing to the best of your ability requires or is enabled by an extended range instrument then there no reason why one shouldn't be used. As you said the punters won't know the difference therefore the choice of instrument should be left to the person best suited to make the call, ie. the musician him/herself.
Yes but the OP was getting turned away from bands. Bands can quite often have a gang mentality everyone wears a leather jacket. The look of the instrument is an extension of that. That said. I'm pretty sure a decent bassist could sneak a subtle lakland jazz 5 string type past most extended range haters. I hear these basses are pretty decent and would suffice tonally? Surely most pros would carry at least 1 four string in there arsenal anyway? If the OP only has 1 bass and it's a 5 then what to do?
7. If your in a gigging band with a particular image..... Just use the bass that fits that particular image. It's not hard nor complicated. Just do it. Nobody wants to see a Translucent Red Mega star flame top Bubinga Ebony Ernie Ball Bongo Bass in a indie/alt rock band. Nor some crusty rusty pre not much paint left since the dawn of time Precision Bass in a math tech metal fest. Dress for the job in hand. It's all very simple. End of the day, punters dont know any different, its's just your peers. Lets be honests the punters dont give a flying V what guitar you rock up with. Anyone who argues that it's all about the sound and visuals are not important......I have only this..... Video killed the Radio star...Steinberger anyone????
8. Red P. White Scratch. Maple board. Easy.
9. In a word yes. It also been refiniished. Pickups could be sorted. Not so sure bout that jack socket relocation though, that looks like effort. Did you ask any questions? If it had been stock price would be higher. Doesnt mean its a bad buy, unless you specifically bought it because you were interested in resale value/authenticity. As a players bass it's could be a good un.

Just bought a 15" driver from Mark. Paid on thursday, delivered by parcel force on saturday. Excellent stuff. Buy with confidence.
11. Also PM'd if previous falls through.
12. One of these went on gumtree for 70 pounds this weekend. But thats cheap. MAG300's with a 15" are going for 100-120 quid on auction quite regularly on Ebay The 2 x 10" & 4 x 10" variants going for nearer 250. These are the lowest i've seen so far. I've been keeping an eye on these for the past few weeks.
