Surely a sixer, as there's one on the dashboard? 😉

Probably go for this Jazz Select if pushed for a four-string fender, although the CS '64 pushes it close.

A Fiat four wheel in CAR. Does it come with flats?

I'd say that a Thumb almost falls into 'Marmite' bass territory. Some folks love them; others not so much. In my time I've owned fourteen Warwick basses and moved all of them on except the Thumb neck-through fiver. It's a heavy beast, but with a wide, suede-backed strap, neck dive is much reduced, although a full hour's set with one, leaves you feeling like Quasimodo at times. The sound - mine is a two-band - is certainly 'burpy' and no other bass I own can get near to that Warwick voice. I'd also say in response to your comment about a Streamer, that these do not really sound anything like a Thumb, contrary to the video, and they are much 'easier' on the shoulder. See if you can find one near you and give it a go: it's the only way you'll ever know if you'll gel. Best of luck with the search.

Regarding the sore hand when playing five string - try raising your strap height, it will provide a better breal-angle on your left wrist. Hope this helps

I really like playing this one. Sounds excellent in a band mix.

Well put - "clattery bronze ones". Going to have a go with LaBella whites now.

Sorry, maybe 'niiiiiice', should only be used in context of a JAZZ bass. 🫣 -
Really enjoying this thread. Wanted to add that sometimes I turn up for a gig with an 'expensive' bass and then discover that the 'house' bass gear is so appalling, I could play any type of bass and still sound as crap as the next guy (or gal). Also, don't forget to consider what the others in the band are playing. Two guitars worth £150 and two cheap guitar amps and a knackered drum-kit, will usually sound as you might expect. Your Foderabacker Gibder Dingbat ten string bass is unlikely to make a huge difference. Discuss (50 words, to be handed in by tomorrow morning). 🤗

Never tried or even seen one. Probably, they'll do the job for someone though. My first bass cost £50 brand new and was pretty bad, but I loved it, as no doubt, someone will one of these. More people getting a 'start' on bass has to be a good thing, whether they begin on a diddly-bo or an Alembic. My understanding is that HB basses work well enough.

Just remembered that it also had a 3-position control on it as well, but can't for the life of me, remember what it actually did. Also came in a tweed case. Sorry to be so vague, it was a while ago, but I still miss it (a lot). Last spotted in Guitar Guitar up in Edinburgh, I believe. -
Well done you. You tried your best to help - very commendable.
