1. I've got an Epi Jack Casady in my collection. It's also strung with flats and thumps with the best of them but I prefer my CT 500/1
2. I have a jubilee edition 500/1 (violin bass). It's #7 of 60. Korean made. Strung with la bella flats. It sounds awesome, it really does. Wonderful for a bit of blues rock. Both pickups wide open thru my ampeg PF500. I will, at some point, get myself a German re issue, in sunburst and remove the pick guard. I recently saw a Beatles tribute and their Macca was using a German re-issue and it sounded totally different to mine. Woollier, I think but very authentic.
3. yes. Years ago I had a Manson Explorer bass. Black with white dots on the horns. I found it for sale about a year or so ago. I sold it in 1986. It was fantastic to see it again but at 800 quid, it wasn't for me. Strangely the inverse has happened too. About 7 or so years ago, I bought an old Tokai breezysound on ebay. Last year I had a cull of gear to finance a new PA system. Put the Tokai back on ebay and it didn't sell but I got an email from a potential buyer. It asked, 'did you buy this from a guy in Ramsgate, in (such and such) what ever road he said. 'Yes' i said. It was the guy I bought it from. He bought it back for twice what I paid for it. He was over the moon
4. I've not played any Nash guitars or basses so I can't comment on the parts quality. But just looking at the paintwork made me not want to pick them up. I'm sure some are great, but they're not for me. But I'm not really into relics as such. My Bravewood P bass is a replica of Sting's #1 bass, so it's reliced to look like Sting's as much as possible. My wife's Bravewood P bass was built un-reliced. What's nice about a relic is another ding doesn't spoil the look of a pristine instrument. I know some people are very fussy about thinga like that. I'm not though. I gig all my gear and if it gets dinged etc, so be it.
5. I'd take a limelight over a Nash anyday. I saw a load of Nash gear in London and I really didn't like the relicing on most of them.
6.
They are. I'm not saying they're not worth it, I'm saying that Limelight are more affordable. http://www.bravewood...g%20a%20BW.html
yes, totally. I agree. Limelights look great
7. Bravewood are totally handmade. I have a couple, (well one, my wife has one also). My elder brother has a Bravewood strat which is also lovely.
8. ah, no fretless necks. maybe they're out of stock. email them. custom world parts are probably the same
9. yes the dots are in the fretted position. Otherwise the neck feels very good EY site is still there
10. yes my first one went wrong. Fault light and cutting out. The other night my new one starting cutting out, on stage, but I could still hear it in the outfront PA. No fault light. So I changed the speaker lead and it has been fine since. Who knows what the problem is but It's a great sounding amp. If it goes wrong again I'll get a PF800. There's been no reported faults with them so far
11. I've got an MBcl115 and cl210. great cabs but the tweeter/horns are rubbish so I keep them turned right down. At high volume they( theweeters) just sound awful. But other than that I love the cabs. Normal rig is ampeg PF500 and the club 1x15. It goes thru the PA for more oomph. No plans to try any other cabs any time soon
12. looks lovely. I hope you're not putting a fender logo on it (actually, I hope you are!!)
13. I can't believe this is still for sale. These are cracking basses with masses of MWAH. I can't buy it because I've already got one. (mine hums too. I found out the other night)
14. my first PF500 went wrong. 2nd one has been fine so far. (about 2 years and maybe 150gigs) Love the sound
15. Hope you enjoy this.
16. Got some gotohs with a smaller plate. and a US fender pickup and a 70s logo. Just going to send it to my friend to put together.
17.
Ghost in the machine is probably my favourite Police album. I missed out on them at the time (only 6 when they split up), but got introduced to them via my uncle and my 1 brother. We used to have a great video filmed while they were recording the album, I don't think it's available on DVD though.
If that's the monserrat video, I'm sure it's available. I'm sure someone lent me a copy some time ago.
18. why won't regular Wilkinson tuners fit?
19. no taxes no. On the package he listed it at $20. Very pleased
20. https://www.youtube....player_embedded AC/DC drummer and Pino on the bass Can't work out how to embed the video
21. Fretless neck has turned up. It's very good. Lovely grain and a great finish. Dots are in the wrong place but that can be sorted. Here's a picture so far. It's a Bravewood body
22. here's mine
23. I've got an XL2 with a plug in leg rest. 1983 I think. Fantastic bass guitar. In fact I'll take it to my Police tribute gig this afternoon. If I had the money that L2 would be mine. GLWTS
24. My order has been shipped. It's quite exciting. I'll have to start sourcing the rest of the parts.I've got the original bridge from my '75 P bass and some 70's P bass pickups that need a rewind. And I'll need a 70's logo for the headstock
