  1. Yeah, I really fancy this too. My bank account say otherwise though 😑
  2. An ADA MB1 would give you all the overdrive, distortion and chorus you could ever need and it’s 1u! Good luck finding one though. My honest option would be to go 2u and buy a L6 Bass POD XT Pro. Cheap as chips, readily available 2nd hand and can probably do all the effects you want plus a shed load of other stuff.
  3. By the sounds of it, I think you need to turn the direct signal off. Then you’ll get just the pitch shifted sound. That said, my experience with Boss pitch shifting have been fairly underwhelming. It’s always pretty glitchy. I’m using the GT-1b which I assume is the same DSP as the MS-3. My L6 HX Stomp on the other hand performs just the function you mention so flawlessly that I use it all the time for drop tunings.
  4. Great bass, future classic. I have a similar aged one in Black that is my main bass. I would add “MIJ 86/87” to your title, you’ll get more interest. Good luck with the sale.

  7. Whether the seller is genuine or not, this is far from a ‘Fender’: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F113770032562
  8. Yep, from time to time.
  9. Shipping box from an Epiphone Thunderbird. I sold the bass long ago so if you are selling a Tbird and need to post this is ideal. Strictly collection in person only from London N21
  10. That is the most age spanning board I’ve ever seen 70’s - present covered with a good smattering of 80’s. An eclectic mix of pedals too. Do you use this for Bass or guitar?
  11. Need to edit the title - VG-99? This is most definitely a VB-99! GLWTS great bit of kit.
  12. Time to purge a few Boss compacts. 'Built like tanks, virtuually indestructible, ultra reliable, industry standard' are how Boss pedals are often described, I don't need to go on, but if in doubt about the specs or sounds please have a search on You tube. This little collection (which would actually make a fairly decent guitar board) includes the Janek Gwizdala favourite (made in Japan) CS-2. Most, if not all, work fine on bass although I'd probably put some kind of blender on the DS-1 🙂 All show signs of use but are in perfect working order. I'm happy to send further pictures if you need. No boxes or instructions, but they will be well packed for shipping. Prices include shipping. Collection (including a free cup of tea) is also an option from London N21. Also happy to hear trade offers. Ph-3 Phase Shifter - £55 AW-3 Dynamic Wah - £55 SYB-3 Bass Synthesizer - £60 DS-1 Distortion - £35 DN-2 Dyna Drive - £35 CS-2 Compression Sustainer (MIJ - 1985) - £100
  13. Mine arrived Thursday too, best £16.50 I’ve ever spent. What a collection - I thought the John Entwistle book was good, but Geddys is amazing!
  14. Amazingly, I’ve just had the dispatch email from Amazon. Should be arriving tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
  15. Dude I’ve PM’d you, you can borrow mine!
  16. My second purchase from Pat. Bought his Dr J Sparrow. Really easy transaction and arrived promptly and well packaged. Highly recommended.
  17. This, Eq is the way to go.
  18. Only just seen this, I’ll have to have a listen to the Paris album.
  19. Many thanks .
  20. I did exactly this last weekend. I used an Alto TS312 as foldback (same spec as the Headrush 112) with the HX Stomp straight into the desk. Worked a treat.
  21. You’re better off exploring MIDI and using expression pedals or an IPad to control individual parameters.
  22. As I have owned or still own all the pedals/amp sims you mention above (im currently using an HX Stomp) I feel fairly qualified to answer this. My feeling is that the quality of the Modeling has improved not so as the audience might notice the difference, but that the player feels the difference. I really liked (and still use on occasion) the Bass POD XT, but the step up to the HD500x felt more natural to play. The Helix Modeling moves things on again in giving the player the best experience and reaction to the amp sims. I’d also add that application is a factor when trying to measure the quality of amp sims.
  23. Very tricky (unless you’re very good with electronics m) without installing the guts of a Variax into your instrument, or using a Variax bass.

    Octave

Loads (most) octave pedals allow you to mix each octave separately; MXR BOD, Aguilar Ocamizer, EBS Octabass etc. Not just the OC-2.
