  1. Agreed, although I think what he’s saying is that he tries to be spontaneous and as such isn’t trying to remember what he’s playing at the time of recording.
  2. For me it’s that I often have to travel on the tube to gigs (or did!). A pedal board with a load of full sized pedals gets really heavy, particularly when you add in the cables, psu and pedal board. If I can make it more compact and lighter, I will.

  11. Now, theres a question. I use the Valeton mainly at the moment. Its tiny and sound identical to a Boss OC-2. However, I'm a bit of a hoarder of Octave pedals and have a selection of them from classic to modern. For me the highlights include the 80's Pearl Octaver, and original Boss 'Octaver' OC-2, Foxrox Octron 2, EBS Octabass, MXR BOD. These are all great in their own way and cover the analog octave down nicely.

  17. Stumbled across this brilliant lesson the other day on the topic of walking bass line construction. I've been playing walking basslines for years but this explored some new ideas. It has a deceptively difficult exercise at the end which I've been trying to employ. Should keep you all busy for a while.

  21. Thanks for posting, you beat me to it.
  22. I can hear digital artefacts, a sort of buzzy, fizzy quality on the XT compared to the HD amp models. For me the HD was a giant leap forward for both the effects and the amp models. I still really rate the HD500x and use it all the time.
  23. Yeah, you can definitely hear the difference between the POD XT pro and the HD500X. Less so between Helix and HD500X for my money. Helix still wins though.
  24. My pleasure, there are loads I don’t know on here but there are also many cool YouTube clips I’ve watched written out for you to learn.
