1. Not my style - looks fugly to me, although it might play well enough. G.
 2.
reduced to £25 inclusive of postage, good piece of genuine ernie ball OLP wood hee, just needs a simple strip down.
Tell me - would a Fender-sized neck fit that? G.

 4.
Anyone fancy a trade for this Cort B5? Awesome bass, good condition, really light, with a great ash body and Wenge neck! Will trade for something 4 string, or even a fretless (4 string or fretless version of this would be good, but will listen to anything good!) Collection only from Peterborough, don't want to have to travel. Some links.... I played a bundle of Corts in Abu Dhabi when I was out on holiday there recently and they surprised the hell out of me. Unfortunately I have just sold my two fretless: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=38510 http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=38376 and I only have this left: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=38514 Which I'm pretty sure you won't be interested in. However, I still have this up for sale: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=39449 yes, I know it's a 5, but I thought I'd draw your attention to it nonetheless. G.

 12.
Le troisieme beump!!
OK, if there's no interest in this I may have to put it on EvilBay come the weekend. G.
 13. OK, so I have an Ibanez RD605 - that's the one with the maple neck, mahogany body (others are basswood) and the Ceramic Seymour Duncan Bassline MM. (I'll do better pics if there's interest) There's absolutely nothing wrong with this bass. The actions tremendous and there's hardly a mark on it and I got a good deal when I bought it. I just can't get on with the tone - it's too 'modern'. To give you an idea of what I like, my main bass is a Hohner 'B' Pro (basically Jazz electrics) with the pickups-in-series-mod, and I'm diggin' it - thick and plenty of mids. For me, the Ibby is a bit low on mids & high on treble. Playing passive helps a bit. However, I also have a small hand and the B Bass has a *narrow* fretboard which fits me very well. So I'm looking at possibly trading the Ibby for something that's: a 5 string has a narrow fretboard is comparable in value (having watched Ebay for a few months these are going for £225 - 250-ish) if active, needs to be 3 band, with, hopefully, a parametric sweep. probably needs to be humbuckers rather than singles. I'm pretty much open to suggestion although a Peavey Cirrus BXP V or a Cort Curbow V would fit the bill nicely. I'll also include this: I bought this to replace the J pup and give the full HH config, but chickened out when it came to routing. This is as it came from the shop, being unmounted. It needs screws, as I've used them on the bass as the old ones were corroded. I also have a routing template for it which will also be included. Something really unusual might interest me away from 5 string, or active (Burns?). I'd rather trade this than sell, but if anyone is desperate to give me the cash would like offers over £200.00 Anyone interested? WHY? Geoff

 24.
I use both the Grado SR60 and Sennheiser HD215 and while i find the SR60's have a nicer tone they are open backed and do let in/out a lot of sound. I find the HD215's are flatter and closed so i use them when other people are in the room. EDIT: I used to live in Essex as well.
I got a pair of Sennheiser HD435s which were (are) on offer in Tesco - £35.00 I think. Known to be bass-heavy at first, but even out a bit after use for a while. I find them great for picking up & emphasising the bassline. I have Digitech Genesis 1 which I set on 'Blackface' amp model and 'American 4x10' cab. There is an input for the disc-player and also one for the earphones. It makes it very easy to learn new stuff & play along. G.
 25. Having established that the output of the MXR-80+ isn't enough to fully push the power stage of my amp (MAG400 or Crate PowerBlock), the question arises - Is there an inexpensive pre-amp (ACT?) I can strap onto the MXR to push my amp properly? Any tried this? Geoff
