2. Apparently Jens was in quite a serious ATV accident recently and badly damaged his shoulder and arm. The initial prognosis was that he wouldn't be able to continue building basses, but he has found a therapist who hopes to have him back and building within 12 months.
3. I've got a ticket and will be there. MOre to see Robert Randolph as opening act, but looking forward to Derek Trucks as well. Up on level 1 of the Chez Boo Empire if anyone wants to meet for a drink. M
4.
It worked
Agreed, you did seem to get pretty worked up about a style of bass you don't need to own.
5.
Except for the owners who care and are posting in this thread trying to defend their choices and pretend they don't care at the same time
I doubt they even really care. Haters will hate. I suspect they are just posting to rile up the feeble minded!
6.
Honestly who cares if they are a fad or not?
People who don't own them. People who do own them don't care, they just play them.
7. Defintely a fad. What kind of ass would play a guitar that looked like this...
8. According to Sterling this is limited to US buyers only unless UK / international dealers put enough pressure on EBMM to have this opened up to overseas clients. On the basis that it doesn't look like they are planning to Market this other than by word of mouth on forums, it seems it is unlikely to be available to UK buyers.
9. BUMP - make me an offer on anything that's left! Buy two of the pedals and I will throw in the Red Onion looper for free!
10. Okay I've made permanent price reductions to the stuff thats left. Grab a bargain, these pedals are in like new condition!
11. Just a heads up, I am going to leave this on the market for one more week and then I'm withdrawing it from sale. I keep getting pangs of guilt everytime I think of selling this bass since they are pretty rare and sound superb. There hasn't been much interest anyway so I think I will keep it, but if you want to make me an offer on it, this is the week to do it otherwise its off the market. I will consider reasonable offers and will defintely sell for the asking price this week!
12. Help me avoid divorce. Buy a pedal!
13.
thats a snip..Fodera is up to 3 years.. jeez i dont want a bass that much
IIRC Fodera no longer has 3 year wait times. They are more like 18 months now since the new management partnership was agreed. They cleared the backlog and from what I hear, are pretty good at delivering on time. Ritter is around 1 year, MTD is around 1year-15months. Sadowsky is 8 months. ACG is around 1 year I think. Wal arn't too far off their "competition" in terms of wait times.
14.
If they are bought and paid for by Wednesday night (25th May), you can have any of the Darkglass, Subdecay or Fuzzrocious pedals for £10 off my asking price. Offer expires if I havent received payment by Wednesday 11:59pm!
Last few hours to get a bargain price with pedals shipped to you tomorrow!
15. Don't make me keep this bass!
16. Sold an Octomizer to Tomasz - easy to deal with, paid quickly and very communicative. Top guy to deal with! A+
17. If they are bought and paid for by Wednesday night (25th May), you can have any of the Darkglass, Subdecay or Fuzzrocious pedals for £10 off my asking price. Offer expires if I havent received payment by Wednesday 11:59pm!
18. I'm prepared to entertain reasonable offers, but in terms of trades the only thing that I would be interested in would be a Fodera.
19.
Hi Mark, could you post some pics of the Ritter?
Here's a link to Jens photos of the bass. I have some at home, but can't post the link from my work! http://www.ritter-instruments.com/item_info.php?i=359
20.
Bump for nice bass, too bad no trades
I'd consider a Fodera, but that's about it (only because I haven't owned one and always wanted to!
21.
Completely unrelated question.. what type of bass is that with all those frets? Epic : ) How many frets are there?
That's one of Jen's Ritter's basses. Its the Ritter Royal "Casa Fronto" finished in antiqued plaster. It has 38 frets (of which about 28 are genuinely playable). The rest of them are just a design thing. Its a really cool bass, but its not useful for all genres. The pickups is jammed up against theb ridge so its quite midrangey all the time. Sometimes you need to boost the bass with an outboard EQ for example. That said, its light as a feather and really easy to play!
