  1. This just happened to me... Got a gig tomorrow, Saturday night. Anyone local to Chorley, Lancashire able to lend me a power supply, or to identify an alternative route that I could sort in one day!!
  2. Dingwall D-Roc Standard Vintage Burst £999 shipped Mainland UK - No Trades. Very Good Overall Condition, barley a mark on it. Note the natural marking in the wood of a black spot on the body, under the G String area on the body between the pickups and the neck. Note another hole has been drilled to give an alternative position to hand the bass from – done by a previous owner and a very useful addition! The Blurb from Dingwall: The D-ROC Standard is an affordable, but brilliant bass guitar. It features a classic design and a high-quality mahogany body, partnered with smoked nickel Hipshot/Dingwall hardware. It’s a match made in bass heaven. This 4-string model comes in a classy, Matte Vintageburst finish. Hand Picked Hardware Dingwall have decided on an open-back tuner for the D-ROC. It helps to provide a smooth feel and is extremely lightweight. They are also known for being very reliable, offering years of high-level performance without any issues. A great tone pairs nicely with this solid performance, in part due to an available bridge/saddle system. This has then been improved upon through the implementation of a custom riser system – which grants increased range of action adjustability. Excellent Electronics The FD-3N pickups in the D-ROC (made to meet Dingwall expectations) ensure an aggressive, but buttery smooth tone. This is because of the decision to use quality Neodymium magnets. New Smoked Nickel knurled dome style knobs with a set-screw further adds to the excellent electronics found on this bass. Body and Neck A well-crafted mahogany body has been used, which helps to reduce the weight of the bass and provides a comfortable playing experience. The average weight of a D-ROC Standard is between 8.5lbs and 9.5lbs – making it a great choice for long playing sessions. The matte finish is durable, and will remain looking amazing for a long period of time. The bass sounds just as good as It looks! Stability and reliability are guaranteed due to a 5-piece maple neck construction. Many Dingwall players even say that this results in a neck that is as stable as many graphite necked instruments they’ve played previously. The choice of a flat headstock – with Hipshot licensed Ultralite tuners – achieves a truly excellent balance. Playability has also been enhanced thanks to the addition of smaller, 18% hard nickel silver fretwire. It offers you a much faster feel, as well as a woodier, less metallic tone. Although setting off in plenty of time and planning for Blackpool Illuminations traffic we arrived with about 15 mins to spare before our set up time. You can catch the whole gig on the link below. Our slot is from about 45:00 to 1:30:00 on the video below, 2nd band on.

  16. Nordstrand Big Blade PJ Pickup Set - £120 posted Mainland UK. Actual photo to follow but these are in great condition. Installed on a screw terminal so not been soldered. J Pickup is the “clean and clear” wind. This set of pickups is everything the title tells you it is: fat, slap-tastic fury from the P Blade, and an aggressive yet tamable tone from the Big J Blade. In the case of the Big J Blade, players may choose either a “warm and wooly” or “clean and clear” wind. In terms of what our builders can control upon the conception of their BJB, it is this choice in wind which serves as the player’s first and foremost front in customizing their BJB tone. The P Blade, however, is not quite so malleable. Its coalitions of magnetism and hardware belting through low and mid frequencies breeds the facilitation of doom for the sound spectrum, so we at Nordstrand suggest that if you’re looking for a raw, untamed, and aggressive sound accompanied by a disinhibiting yet friendly mediator, then the NPJ Blade set is right for you. Technical Details (J-Blade): · Big J-Blade Jazz-style Pickup. · Uniform magnetic field—no worries about pole spacing. · Choice in “warm and wooly” or “clean and clear” wind. · Loaded with two ceramic bar magnets. · Laser cut, vulcanized fiber bobbins wound with 42 Heavy Formvar wire. · Potted in a paraffin-beeswax mix to contain any unruly frequency that may attempt to desecrate your desired tone. · 19mm maximum pitch—works for most basses. · Blade radius designed for even output in most basses: (14”r: vintage round) Technical Details (P-Blade): · Hum canceling split coil 4 string precision-type bass pickup. · Thick steel blade. · No worries about string spacing! · Loaded with two ceramic bar magnets. · Drop-in replacement P-bass pickup. · Available in black plastic covers · Laser cut vulcanized fiber bobbins. · Blade radius designed for even output in most basses: (14”r: vintage round) · Potted in a paraffin-beeswax mix to contain any unruly frequency that may attempt to desecrate your desired tone. Photo here - will remove from bass (solder less installation) once buyer is found.
  17. Removed the neck to see that the Bass & Neck are stamped as JB40 - photos above.
  18. I think the MEC preamps are not all that great. Completely agree with the OP in that it's never quite sits well. In my opinion the MEC preamps only really pairs well with a Thumb bass or a Doublebuck. Plenty of options of course, I've enjoyed tonepumps, ACG EQ01 and EMG preps in Warwick.
  19. Crazy, my guess is that's going on the wall in a Hard Rock Cafe in Dubai, UAE etc.
  20. Fender Jazz Bass Guitar - Made In Japan - 1993/1994. £650 Shipped Mainland UK Weight is 4.14kg or 9lb 2oz. Serial number dates to 1993/1994. Good overall condition given the age, getting towards 30 years old. Dings and dents are shown in the photographs, has certainly been a players basses, lots of dings and dents on the body. Some tarnishing on the bridge. Hairline surface mark around the G string Tuner - shown in photograph. Looks much better without the pickguard to my eye. Comes with the 1 ply pickguard - has yellowed with age and looks to have had a sticker on for some time that has left the white patch, again as shown in photos. A great players bass - set up with a nice medium action, still loads of life left in the frets.
