  2. Does sound daft - also a bit limiting for Ibanez too. Inspired by the Ibanez I also recently bought a secondhand Warwick Corvette Rockbass 5 32" and wanted to swap the strings on that to the same as on the Ibanez. Thanks for the Newtone suggestion.
  3. Hi @fretmeister did you get anywhere with tracking down the appropriate 5 string set?

  15. That does look bang on for my tastes. Love a little boost at 800hz. Who's going to tell TC to build it? 😉

  18. Yes, a 40hz cut is handy, but imho probably better done on the amp. I do frequently boost the lows for a particular song or two mid gig via the bass controls - having a boost at 40hz isn't as useful as a cut at this range. A comment further back mentioned a control cutting at 40hz and boosting at 80hz. That sounds simple and covers both requirements. IME the additional mid controls are usually centred a bit higher and so don't boost lows.

  20. This is probably the clue as to why. Though I've no idea what that second sentence means🤔
  21. I can't claim to have conducted an extensive analysis, but certainly most that I have looked at seem to be 40hz. That Audere has the highest bass frequency I've seen by a long way. Interesting! Glad you like it.

  23. My recent acquisition of a 32" Ibanez Mezzo 5 string has been an eye opener. I've got quite small hands (can handle my 37" Dingwall though...) and at a recent rehearsal there was a moment on the Ibby where the shorter scale clicked and it all just felt so damn easy - I could actually 'play' about a lot more than my meager talents usually allow. Plus, it sounds awesome in the mix. I think 30" might feel a bit short, especially for 5's - and there only seems to be the Ibanez Mezzo and a Warwick Corvette 5 available in 32" 'off the peg' -but I'm definitely a fan now - so keeping an eye out and maybe considering moving on a 34"incher or two.. even edging towards the scary 'custom build'...
