Agree, if the 722s are in budget you would be better off with those, fantastic speakers
 -
RCF 710 or 712 would be my call, or there are some good deals around on Yamaha DXR s at the moment with the mk2s coming out QSC are expensive in Europe and imo no better than RCF
 -
That's a DI box with a passive signal direct from a bass going in to it, with a line level signal out of the HX stomp I would expect the differences to be much smaller
 -
The Orchid is probably built a bit better, but the DI400P is fine, lots of pros use them and mines never given me any issues
 -
Still say a cheap DI box is the way to go assuming you already have XLR cables. Means you're always covered if gigging through another PA, cheaper than a decent new XLR-jack cable and can be fixed to your board so no-one nicks it!
 -
	Sorry @Cuzzie mis-read your post
 -
No need to 'get in to the guts' it's pretty obvious just looking at them TS top TRS bottom
 -
Don't worry abut getting a TRS cable. 99% of sound engineers will have a DI box you can use, but if you want to be sure you can buy them for peanuts: https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/SubZero-Passive-DI-Box/1SDA?origin=product-ads&campaign=PLA+Shop+-+GENERIC&adgroup=GENERIC&medium=vertical_search&network=google&merchant_id=1279443&product_id=83422d1&product_country=GB&product_partition_id=513825881512&gclid=CjwKCAjw-ITqBRB7EiwAZ1c5UzP-YB4n7wmLUwcaUXe9urWe6JTAFh-c_Nx2j5YTk1pYQg3Tsjp_aRoCZIwQAvD_BwE Just connect with a short patch lead or guitar cable

I think using stomp , HX and an expression pedal will give you most (not all) the functionality of a Helix, with a lot of added complexity, two power supplies (or one big expensive one) cables, programming etc I have the stomp for bass (3 sounds under my feet and a tuner) but struggling to make it work for guitar where I use a lot more effects, for that I have a Helix. It's big, heavy, expensive but brilliant! You could expand the stomp functionality with a midi controller, but IMO that detracts from the simplicity of the stomp, and is a bit of a half-baked solution The HX FX, I personally wouldn't bother with as the amp modelling is important to me The LT is good value, but I know if I'd bought one I'd with Id spent the extra on the full fat model

Yes, the Korg iM1 is a great iPad synth. You could also try something like the new Boss SY-1 and play the parts on bass rather than keys, it would make transitions easier.

Yes, very good looking bass, love the ‘70s jazz look with the block inlays.

Bought Colin’s Stingray. Lovely bass and he went out of his way to get a friend to drop it off personally to save the expense and the worry. Beautiful bass, and top bloke!

Think a second may be on the cards

Got a barefaced one ten in the end and I’m very happy with it, those eden’s are cheap though and a 4 ohm cab would have been a good option, double the weight of the bf though
 -
It is. I’ve got the PF350 and love it. If you’re patient there are bargains out there, paid £150 for mine https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ampeg-PF-500-Portaflex-500W-Bass-Head/264403381613?epid=2164357119&hash=item3d8fab6d6d:g:8fUAAOSwlmxdMcST

Ampeg pf500 used for about £250 or if the 410 is 4 ohm then a pf350 could well do the job. Great rock bass head loads of other options there’s an orange terror 500 in the classifieds fir 300 louder than a very loud thing and sound great too

As another guitarist turned bassist I just bought a Squier VM PJ. Tried a few different Precision’s including a few Mexican ones for 4 times the price and the VM was I’m my opinion the best of the bunch, can’t fault it, especially for the price

Just bought a Cog Knightfall from Dan - quickest postage ever. Brilliant! Thanks

Best way to reglue/hold peeling vinyl covering on BAREFACED cabs?
JohnA replied to mcnach's topic in Amps and Cabs
I’m sure BF know what they’re doing, it seems to have been a small hiccup on early models, and not an issue any more. They are a small company and will improve all the time, I’m sure they’ve taken this on-board -
Just picked up a Squier Vintage Modified PJ because it looked nice, and was cheap. Slapped on some thomastik flats and a hi-mass bridge that I had lying around that I thought looked nice. It's amazing!! Had a USA P bass previously and the Squier plays, sounds and looks every bit as good IMO. My new favourite bass

Cheers guys, will see how I get on. As you say it's good to have the option of adding another, and it's still a tiny rig with 2 cabs
