1. I would have thought that as well as power handling, you'd want to know the Vd of each cab, or one might bottom out before the other. If only manufacturers (Barefaced aside) quoted such figures!
2. You causing bother on here as well Nick? If you won't listen to me, maybe you'll listen to Mr. Fitzmaurice!!
3. Haha, yes I know - not the best website! No worries, not in a rush either way so you take your time. I could just do with something a little louder and size per se isn't a problem so a Compact seemed logical. Cheers! Jim
4. Hiya, Schroeder weighs about 30lb - says so at the top of the page in the brief description. Never played a five string through it, but all these tiny cabs are a trade off - volume and weight for real low end, so I guess it's going to be no different to many other tiny cabs. Cheers, Jim
5. I have a Schroeder 15PL (the very smallest one) with neo speaker option. http://www.schroeder...s.com/PL-15.htm Might that interest you? Complete with cover, in excellent condition.
6.
Here's a little question regarding watts. I see Alex recommending plenty of Watts to work with the Barefaced cabs. Unfortunately, my Trace is an AH150, which is 150 watts. I'm not going down the road of what is a watt, depending on who makes it. All I'll say is that they seem to be fairly healthy with this one. My main beef with my current Peavey 410 is monster weight. With the Trace pre amp gain set just so, I need between 1.5 and 2.0 on master to give me the stage volume I want. How would this work out with a Barefaced ? I won't pretend I understand, but am more than willing to move with the times and not have to move a monster weight cabinet any more. Would my 150 Watt Trace elliot (which I love to bits) do the job with a barefaced cabinet ?
Depends which cab you are wanting! It will defo be enough for some of the 4ohm cans like the Super 12, but probably not for the 8ohm LF based cabs like the Big Baby. Jim
7. Well, RIM says it's an Eminence in there, but a bit of research shows that this cab was either made with Faital neos or Eminence ceramic drivers. Unless it was a custom order? I'm stumped! Would you consider taking the speaker out and having a check? Cheers, Jim
8. As Cilla Black used to say - Surprise Surprise!......
9. Ok, I've PM'd him so fingers crossed he lets me know! Cheers.
10. Do you know if this has a Faital or Eminence 15" in it? Cheers,
11. I'm in the same boat with a new GB Streamliner 600 (ain't they grand?). I have looked extensively at 2x12's and have decided that it's gonna be the S12 early next year. If you look at the drivers used, it's far and away the best value, although I'm sure the others are great cabs too. Still gonna have a go at buildin' me own first though.....
12. I thought the 5mm+ Xmax was a significant improvement over most OEM drivers?
13. As a slight aside, knowing what I now know about xmax and fartout, do you think that manufacturers use the Deltalite 2512 instead of the Basslite 2012 just so that they can quote the higher wattage?
