  1. Leonardo da Vinci used a mirror to do that...
  2. Absolutely fine. Done Re the cost, I don't think anyone should be out of pocket. If we see that not enough people are guaranteed to attend, we should cancel - I don't see why in such cases the project should go ahead regardless and the organisers have to shell out.
  3. Thanks Colin! Now under Events and I'm just about to tweet it Well done, guys.
  4. [Note - This thread was previously in Off Topic, hence my comment below.] Spotted this thread by pure chance. If it could be moved to General Discussion I could tweet it to our followers and it could turn into another of our BC charity projects. I'll see what the relevant mods think of the idea and report back.
  5. Small pub function room? That should't be too difficult, provided we are allowed to make some noise. I can think of one in my area, off the top of my head. Only problem, mine is an expensive area of London and having that space for an entire day may not be as cost-effective as hiring a function room in a less upmarket area. On the plus side, I believe some local bands hire - or used to hire - it for rehearsals, which means noise should not be a problem. The above is just an example, of course. Hm, should we perhaps start a new thread to discuss the 2014 meetup, and then I can pin that one, as opposed to continuing on this old one?
  6. It was uber-trendily dark too, but here are a couple of shots, post-hauling of the Baby Bass up the stairs
  7. All right, here we go - the Flickr set of the shots that didn't make it on to my blog. You'll find them a little repetitive, as they are often simply variations of those that are in the blog. At least some of you will see themselves in one or more pics There are a lot of Baby Bass-related photos as Kris may like to have them for his archive. 8. Will be good to see you there! And fear not, I am so going to bang on about Basschat being there with our corner next to Bass Gear that nobody will be unaware of the event or our presence there
  9. The scale is the same as that of a DB, though, if that's what you are doubtful about.
  10. Thank you I think Jack will play his Baby Bass at the gig with Dani Molino tomorrow. I have asked him to look at this thread when he has a minute.
  11. Jack has been very busy today but I'll give him a prod to check out this thread and let you know about his own experience with the KB1 as soon as he has a spare moment, Sarah. From what I can see, he's very happy with tone and portability, especially now that he has replaced the Thomastik strings with softer ones (I keep forgetting names and details, so you'll have to ask him).
  12. Hi Wimpy, it's a beautiful bass you've got there, and I hope it finds a buyer soon. May I remind you that the rules require no fewer than 36 hours between bumps? (Mods can see deleted posts.) Good luck with the sale
  13. Paul the Drums, Happy Jack and KK Baby Bass in action again at a jam last night! As per Clarky's immortal remark, the upright bass "babe-magnet" factor was in evidence - the audience actually took notice of both the bass player and the instrument!
  14. Familiar from another forum? Could be. Warwick, Talkbass, Lefty Bassists, Chophouse...?
  15. By the way, in case anyone is not familiar with WordPress, each of the photos in the blog can be displayed full screen by clicking on it.
  16. I'm also working on that Flickr album of extras! Keep the faith and you'll be able to spot yourselves amid tons of gear in several other photos A big thank you to all who read my blog so far - yesterday I reached my highest number of clicks and reads ever.
  17. Thank you Nik! And also thank you all for appreciating the blog.
  18. Ha! Moved by one of the Admins. Thanks
  19. Yes KiOgon! We want to see you all there next time! It's great fun, there is no pressure, and socialising with like-minded bass freaks is always good (: Edit: Nige, I loved writing it - the most difficult part was deciding which photos to leave out...
  20. Hi, and welcome to BC. I think you may have meant to post this in General Discussion or Bass Guitars as opposed to in this forum?
  21. Thanks Dave. I recognised you guys but decided to avoid putting any names in the hall photos, as it would make some of the captions a bit cumbersome.
  22. Thanks Rich and Al - the hardest part was selecting the photos from the hundreds I had, and lightly cropping/editing each of them as needed (no Photoshop or similar involved, though!). Once that job was done, the blog practically wrote itself.
  23. I've given it another shout on Twitter
