    I've gone down a slightly different route .... I have my preamp in pedal format so in my 'worst case scenario' I can just take that without a cab/power amp & either use backline or PA ... I initially powered preamp with Yamaha P2500S going into PJB 9B cab but I really liked the idea of a powered cab instead ... unfortunately there aren't many bass specific ones out there but this is what I ended up with ... Darkglass B3K > 3Leaf Audio Enabler > BagEnd PD12-D So far so good but haven't gigged this setup as yet ... The BagEnd 212 cab has a class D power amp built in limited to 500w but surprisingly it doesn't have a volume knob so is at constant full output but I control this with my Enabler preamp ... the cab is a bit heavy for some I guess at 37kg ......

    I had a ss one made which I gave to brother in law but think he sold the Geddy bass .. I could ask if he still has it ? Will powder coat nicely ....

    Bought this great Yamaha power amp in excellent condition but an incoming powered cab makes it redundant & I unfortunately need the cash to help cover the cost of new combo ...     Nice one Kev always fancied the higher spec'd ones but happy with my ABZ5. So what's the main diff between this & the Z1 that you say you didn't like (tone ?) woods & pups diff ?

    It all helps really interested in these Gen3 cabs as I used to have a S12T which was great, so if these are better maybe just one 12 will suffice (esp as my power amp bridges at 8 Ohms) As you've gathered I play in drop A but just a tad concerned how one SC can handle that ...
