1.
Mine too. Should I remove it..?
Problem is just that it's fake. I did the math, and we should've seen the Higgs boson by now. Fake, illogical stuff like that tends to mess with our heads, see. best, bert
 2. Hey Marco, Welcome to BC, or at least the visible part of it. Your plan sounds great, roughly, but is sadly lacking the 6" and 8" cabs that would put the dot on the "i". I like you already. Then again, Switzerland and Norway do have a lot in common. However, soon, some Loon on here will tell you that Switzerland and Scotland have a lot in common as well, but you just disregard that (sorry - inside joke). Anyway, enjoy it here, and don't be a stranger! best, bert
 3. . Nice, Mark! I know what you're saying, but this works very well for a listener who'se not after reviewing sternly. Great tone! But tell me, did you sell this bass, or forget to mention it, or my eyes are deceiving me, or you're already hiding your basses from the eyes of your peers on here or what? That, and is it a Sterling? Couldn't quite make it out. best, bert
 4. So, what darndest things have you heard kids say about basses, rigs, gigs, bassists, or music and musicians in general? I'll open with: Kasper (3): "Dad, you have so many CDs as only an egoist can have." Martine (4): "Dad, these rockers ... their heads are so filled with rock that there's no place left for intelligence. Now, I like rock too, but at least I have space left for intelligence."
 5.
she does start sentances with "when I'm in a band....."
Luvverly. Also, there's a fantastic thread right there. I'll start one, or dig out an old one. best, bert
 6.
which is bigger Pharnacia serratipes or Phobaeticus chain?
Well, a P. chain is longer of course, but you should know that, them being 34" scale each 'n' all. Weird question. b b
 7. Sadly, I have only one, but it does sum up my playing adequately: "The Hissing of Summer Lawns", not the most famous one, but the one by The Royal Society for the Preservation of Public Greens and Parks
 8. Hey Mark, Welcome! Nice intro you wrote, so I gather you didn't drop out of school when you first started playing the bass. I was quite a funny coincidence that you, like me, would be a classical musician as well as found underwater. In my case the latter is due to my kayaking though. Anyway, enjoy the site, and explain the bug in my bass please. best, bert
 9.
I'd go back in a heartbeat if I had the cash! 10. Hey Russ, Welcome! I can't help you on technique, and shouldn't help you on gear either, but can at least express that it would be nice if you were to enjoy the site and the talk here. That, and to say you'll need to pledge allegiance of course. best, bert
 11.
F%^&*G New Guy
Ah. Thanks. best, bert
 12.
I'll take my chances going on the run, but thanks all the same
Oh, that's OK. I wasn't being serious anyway, as I'm living in the basement myself. You'd have to take the first floor.
 13. Come over and hide in my basement. He'll never find you there.
 14.
It seems that Basstractor, Discreet and I have become the self appointed welcome committee here
Bad science! You forgot Leen. Read up on epistomology and metabletics! That and source material. best, bert
 15. Hey Toomey, Welcome! Yup, it's out of the way. Your first success on this site. Congrats. As to ideas for a new bass, there's thousands of good people with tens of thousands of good ideas, so I think you'd do well if you specified a little what you're after, especially budgetwise, but also as to number of strings and even sound (even though some people keep telling sound is in your fingers). The TBX270 is highly regarded around here, and one can easily find something really good in the same price range or even cheaper. Squier for example do a Jaguar in 30 or so inch scale in their Vintage Modified (VM) series, and it has received good feedback. Clearly cheaper than an RBX270. People's recommendations here and my own eyes (not ears, admittedly and noobly) made me go for another set of Squiers from their Classic Vibe (you guessed it: CV) series. Well built, good sounding rough representations of classic Precisions and Jazzes. Then there are loads of fantastic Yamahas (eg BB series), Ibanezes (eg SR300 or above), RockBasses, .... you name it! Aske and thou shalt be answered. Enjoy the site! best, bert
 16.
I'm hoping he got something last year.
17. Hey Gully, Count yourself lucky! You've just been welcomed by Him! He's kind of a big deal around here (not really). Anyway, welcome! Is FNG a known acronym for something or something? Enjoy the site! best, bert
 18. A friend of mine is an advanced musician, and she chose the Stagg too. She's very satisfied with it, and it has made her almost stop with bass guitars. Bloody sin, I know, but I'm only the messenger/piano player. I read the Palatino is supposed to be good, but it's a lot more expensive - here at least. best, bert
 19. Congrats, man! best, bert
 20.
Looked at more closely i changed my mind. From now on I'm from Switzerland.
21. Hey Mastrollani, Welcome! Beatles: OK The Who: OK vintage gear: OK Yup! You passed. Enjoy the site! best, bert
 22. Hey Andi, Welcome! I hope you'll find this site has a lot to offer. As to your question, I think it may be a good move to ask it once again on the Double Bass forum. Not everyone will read the introductions. Enjoy! best, bert
 23.
No votes for "reggie"? I picked one up once and couldn't get a note out, no matter how hard I blew.
Fixed
 24.
It gives some of the old folks on here flashbacks
Verdamt! You've given me flashbacks about both wars and the cold war! Dunderwetter! zum Wohl! bertold
 25. Bad haiku, Leftyhook. Sorry. How about this premature attempt: my BMP 2 a gift but a gig virgin thus Spring became Fall best, bert
