3. i took it to mansons for a nut replacement and set up with a superslinky 50-105 gauge set. hopefully they wil set up the trust rod for the c# tuning and all will be good again. ... and thanks for the info guys!
4. Thanks very much guys! Given the money I have spent on this bass I think it would be wise and play it safe after looking at those tension read-outs. I believe it has duel truss rods but even so after a considerable time I would worry about the stress.
5. such an awesome pedal, I wish I could afford this right now... dam
6. Hey all, I'm using an ESP Viper 4 sting which had the nut re-shaped to take the bottom 4 strings of a 5 string set (125 - 60) to keep the tension up as I tuned lower in my previous band. However I'm now in a band who's lowest tuning is drop d half step down and I was wondering if it would be wise it have a new nut fitted to allow for standard gauge strings as I'm not sure if the extra tension of the big strings tuned up so high would damage my neck over time or if standard gauge strings would buzz due to the scalloped nut? Any tips would be appreciated, Thanks
7.
Are these really as good as a Gibson SG? Similar money for used. Looks Outstanding!
Well it's got active emg's and a through neck so it really sounds nothing like an sg. But i'll guarantee that its built better than the SG's (even the US ones) and sounds much richer. I havent ever seen another one of these other than mine (http://basschat.co.uk/topic/10581-is-my-esp-worthy-of-being-considered-bass-porn/page__st__20__p__849540__hl__esp%20viper__fromsearch__1#entry849540) at gigs, on the tv or even on the net! And at that price its a real steal! I waited 6 months for mine to be built for me in Japan and it cost me arount £1500 i think...
8.
Could imagine quite a few players who would hardly let a bass like that see the light of day from it's case.
So what's the point in owning one?
9. Found mine, ESP Viper through an Ampeg SVT3, Mesa 1000 rig using Line 6 XT Live and Boss OD3 for effects... Pretty happy
