1. A freind of mine really likes your Trace rig would you take £500??>? where are you located?
 2.
TBH, I had a DHA VT-2 Twin (I think that's the one... The one with channel 1, 2, or both combined), and it just did not agree with my rig. I was waiting a long time for it, and I think I built it up in my head to be something which would blow everything else away. It looked sick, especially with all the lights on, and on a dark stage. But I couldn't get any usable tones from it. I tried EVERY combination of settings and came away feeling slightly gutted. Dave was very amiable about it and I got it refunded (minus a few bob for paypal fees), and I've since got a Catalinbread Hyperpak which is superb for what I wanted
Although its an OD/D pedal i use the valve warmth for my overall tone (channel 1) and then 1+2 for anything i want to be more defined like a solo or just a great riff. P.S. does anyone know what distortion Stu Zender uses on "Feels Just Like It Should" along with an envelope filter i think ?!?
 3.
Hi, There are a few ways to do this. We do a VTX-400-Bass that has a valve pre-amp and low wattage valve power section to generate the real valve pre-amp and output distortion of an all valve amp. We then feed the signal taken after the valve power section as it drives a dummy load into a 420W Class D solid state power section. So the super clean SS amp just amplifies the valve sound a bit like a PA. We have plans for a 750W version of the above which will be called the VTX-750-Bass. Or, we do a VTX-Bass which is the above but without the SS power section, I am working on one of these for a BC member now. The output signal once again taken after the valve output transformer is supplied as DI and line for feeding an external power amp. I hope that helps. Dave
Thanks for all your help on the matter Dave.
 4. My Review of my VT2
 5.
Hi Jonny, I would consider going Pre/Power setup maybe, crown K9 power and Sansamp RB1. That could suit you band well, otherwise get yourself a mesa 400 or maybe the Ampeg SVT-5/6 Pro. James Leech of Sikth always had a great sound with his setup. Robbie.
very true, thanks
 6.
If you're set on lots of headroom and a tubey tone, and you want to spend a bit less than Mesa money, you could do a lot worse than look at the Warwick Tubepath heads. 500w or 1000w, and they have a switchable second-stage tube similar to Mesa's Simul-state function. I have one, and it's marvellous... and it was less that 500 quid second-hand.
Thanks very much! I'll have a look.
 7.
Ask DHA (check the other sub-forums) He might be able to source a bigger power section for his new amps, granted they're hybrid, but it's a more valvey hybrid.
Tru i havent thought of asking dave yet... i have also just learnt that the mesa doesnt have an i/p pad so i might be a trouble with my active bass.
 8.
It's a hybrid with a valve pre-amp.. no valve power section, so do you want hybrid, ss or all valve recommendations? I suggest you do more research bro.
thats what I'm trying to do... i dont know much about amps but i need a better rig as were playing bigger venues and mines getting worn.
 9.
BUMP
did you use this with your line 6?
 10.
Thanks for responses. Bassmouseman. Thanks for letting me know about the Takamine. Distance is a major barrier, Stockport to Linconshire. Bit of a problem for someone with an irrational hatred of driving. Thanks again. Had a look at a few acoustics today and this stands out the most: Tacoma CB10 Thunderchief. http://www.mattsmusic.com/Merchant2/mercha...Acoustics1/CB10 Seems a brilliant price at £435, as the cheapest I've seen over here is £699. Can you ship an acoustic from the States? I'm waiting for a response from the retailers about the possibility of this but it would concern me.
I played one in Mansons and it sounded well worth the money! And thats saying alot.
 11. I play in a metal band using an Ampeg SVT 3 pro 4x10 rig and i fancy an upgrade to 750 watts; Ive been looking at the Messa Big Block 750 and their Powerhouse 1000 cab(sorry for all the posts) mainly because as it has very good reviews, but I'm sure their are other options available out there. I don't mind spending £3,000 on a rig thats gonna last me. If you have any recommendations of a good solid 750w valve rig or if you have owned one please leave some advice. Thanks, Jonny.
 12.
Yup, review of the Big Block 750 in the new BGM, due out in the next few weeks. I liked it!!! Mike
awsome cheers
 13. I'm thinking of buying a Mesa Big Block 750 with a Powerhouse 1000 cab... has anyone had any experiences with either???
 14.
Damn you! I'm still waiting for mine, I ordered the exact same pedal!
Your time will come... lol
 15. Just save up and get a Tacoma!

 17.
Except i dont have it yet...!! Going to pick it up at 5, ill have pics then! Fretless maybe?
WELL??? lol
 18.
Have you used an active bass with this peal, if so how does it sound?
Yea both by basses are active, sounds ace!
 19.
That looks sweet. I miss my old VT2. I see the power lead is on the side now. Are you powering it with the adaptor that Dave provides?
Yea just to be safe...
 20. I apologise for my fuzzy phone pic. The DHA VT2 Duel Custom Bass is a 2 channel OD/D pedal; it uses two 12AX7EH preamp valves to produce a real crunch and to help you craft your ‘sound’ selectable Treble, Mid and Bass tone controls, gain controls for both valves, a boost switch that boosts the clean volume in the mix, a fat switch that boosts the low end, three selectable types of distortion (Valve, Silicon Diode and Germanium Diode) and a has a knob to filter channel 1 into 2 when channel 1+2 is selected. I have used Ashdown’s Drive Plus and the Boss OD-3 but neither keep or boost the low end like the VT2 and with two valves creating that true valve crunch, I don’t think there are any pedals out there that come close for same money (£189.99). At first I was a bit confused by all the controls but as I got used to the VT2’s settings I found a good number of usable tones. The case is made from metal which feels very sturdy and the black with red splash finish that Dave did looks great. Oh and the power on light is a red l.e.d. behind the vales, which are viewable through 6 holes on the face of the pedal. Overall I would say that if you are looking for a versatile bass overdrive/distortion pedal that keeps the low end, has an authentic sound and looks great then the VT2 Duel Custom won’t disappoint. Dave Hall’s website www.davehallamps.co.uk has sound bites of his pedals in a variety of settings if you want to hear them in action.
 21.
Whadda ya mean ugly ? I've always been quite taken with it !!!
Oh come on mxm... all respect for Bootsy but man...
 22. So... everyone hates Mesa equipment because of the price?
 23. That review is the reason why I've bought a VT2 Duel Custom
 24.
..and if you are lucky enough to find one, it'll probably be about three million quid. *shouts* Sort it out, Mesa!
They still build all the Mesa products in the origional factory... give them some credit
 25. Very Nice! Why do you prefure the Headless?
