1.
The 1st 3 Iron Maiden albums set me up for 30 years of 4 string happiness!
Amen my Brother!! Also suggest (If you're into bluesy stuff) - Need your love so bad - Peter Green High Time Baby - Spencer Davies Group Rescue Me - Fontella Bass How Many More Times - Led Zep Radar Love - Golden Earing Tracks of my Tears - Smokey Robinson
2. I knew a guy a few years back who had an obsession with all things retro - used to play/write music under the nom de plume of Sgt Love. He had (from memory) a Hofner violin bass. And from my memory it was awful to play. Would'nt use one if they gave me a freebie.
3. Had a nose but I'm happier with BC.
4. Just for comparison... 1976 Tokai made Hondo - note sunburst (amount of black) and "Wheel of Fortune" adjuster at heel - sold on US vintage guitars site. The one I've purchased. They look VERY similair - sunburst pattern, truss rod adjustment. Heel of neck looks more rounded on mine. And I'm not so sure that is a "wheel of fortune", looks more like a cross-head.
5.
Is that a wheel of fortune truss adjuster? If it is . Wheel of fortune on a cheap bass?
Seller confirms truss rod adjustment is at the heel
6.
Thats not a Tokai sorry With a sunburst finish with so much black on the contour, probably going to be some sort of plywood wonder.
http://www.jvguitars.com/showproduct.pl?id=1122595716 Similair amunt of Black?
7. Well at least tis not a Kay.. headstock is wrong shape.
Is that a truss rod cover I spy?
I thought that but I think its just a trick of the light as you can just see a truss rod adjuster at the heel
8. Oh well I suppose it'll do as a project. Will see when it gets here!
9. I'm thinking that it looks suspiciously like a Hondo or possibly by screw posiitions a Tokai - not a great photo. Sort of hope it is a Tokai, as it's my birthday soon... 10. Bought Andy's Thumpers - top bloke, great comms, and they arrived at warp speed.
Thanks, did have a look but mine was a higher spec than that one. Had the lightning flash frett markers and a nice quilted finish

13. no one will ever know she aint original Really? Will they be fooled by the fact it looks like he's used tracing paper and a 4B pencil to implement the headstock decal? This is a top relic project not a dodgy electric sander hatchet job So.. no sander. I guess he gnawed away the finish when the Aldi Baked Beans ran out and he got hungry This is a well worn battle axe that looks like it saw combat with Boadicea Yep, looks like Boudicca was using it to remove her Clegitts and Winnets from Birth till the final battle on the A5.
14. Bought Andy's EHX Pulsar to satisfy my need to reproduce Zep's Heartbreaker without a Lesley cabinet (I dunno, buying a pedal for one song, I need help!) in my classic rock covers band - can confirm had no contact issues and pedal was delivered working and securely wrapped within a week (I thought this was reasonable as getting to a post office on "School Nights" can be a pain, but Andy Still insisted on sending it "Next Day". Found him to be a genuine honest bloke, just looks like he had a bit of bad luck. Cheers Dave.
15. "Toughest Street in town" - Thin Lizzy "Up Against the wall" - Tom Robinson band "over the hills with the swords of a thousand Men" - Tenpole Tudor "Hersham Boys" - Sham69 "Mr Jones" - Counting Crows (actually used to cover "Angels of the Silences" with the old band) Just for starters...
16. Have a couple of small Multi-tools, one made for guitar, another a "Greber" (I Think).. the plyers on the Greber have sorted many "Drummer do lugs up too tight" moments..
17. Have a "would love this to keep my Korean Epi Tbird company if I had the cash" bump. Those Epiphone cases are massive aren't they!?
18. Buuump for second try at pics
19. and... BUMPSY.. some interest
20. Ahhh thats the puppy!! Now just neeed to find the model number.. I know it was contemporary to the YB series
21. This was one of my early Bass Guitars, bought in the very early 90's. I cannot for the life of me remember what make it was, I just remember at the time it was a very nice bass - lovelly neck. The inlays were as far as I know factory. I loved the finnish on it, would love to find another one.
22.
Thanks for the nice comments guys, we've always prided ourselves on offering the best customer service. Which isn't to say things never go wrong just that we hope to put things right when they do. So it's always good to see threads like this!
If you ever decide to expand, you should open a shop in Birmingham. You already beat PMT, GAK and DV hands down on price and service.. reminds me of the old Musical Exchanges. Second thoughts dont.. If I start spending more I'm looking at a divorce!!! LOL
23. Mainly using my Epi TBird for the Classic Rock covers band, and have 4 Precision alikes plus my trusty old Washburn, so need to thin the Herd a little!! Both of these Bass's are perfectly useable, or could be turned into/used for projects - the Westfield has some good quality hardware as standard. First up - Westfield B1000 sunburst, Perfectly playable bass, has a nice modern style shallow neck, and pickups are slightly less "warm" than Wizard Trads, with a good amount of output, and give the Precision Honk. She has a few dinks as shown, and I replaced the nut as the original one was broken. Secondly a White Bitsa. The body is solid Alder, came from a Hodson P Bass copy, The neck was from Seco guitars - its a Chinese copy of the classic chunky P Bass neck - "D" profile, quite sturdy.I have two more of these necks on my other two P Bitsa's. Pickups are the generic ones that came with the Hodson, but sound Precision like and again have a good output. The headstock has a "Fecker Pretender Bass logo" I'm looking for £50 for the Westfield, £70 for the White Bitsa. I know I could get more by breaking them down and selling the bits seperately but I really dont have the time at the minute with work and two bands on the go, If anyone wants to buy both together I'll do them for £100 and throw in a Purple painted Ply P body, a spare set of Machine heads and the original Hodson neck - Enough to get any project started. Collection ONLY please from Tamworth Staffs as I have nothing suitable to box them up with.
24. TBF it looks better than the Fender Pawnshop models.
