2.
It's got to sound better. My biggest problem with the V8 is the fact it's on a PCB, it really does show in the sound and I know that if it was hard wired it would bring the amp to life. Another problem is the rise in treble on switching from channel 1 to 2. Not sure on the transformers but the rest of the components are just cooking versions. Written on my Input transformer, Demeter Windings 01245 344544, Pt No 72 TRAN V8-M
There is really very little difference between pcb and PTP soundwise, the main differences being the ease of which you can get a silent layout, which a decent PCB will have anyway.
 3. electric wizard - another perfect day
 4.
In electronic terms valve amps are usually pretty simple - the mistake some people make is thinking building a big valve amp will be cheaper than buying one. The valves alone for a Trace V8 will run into the hundreds and as for the power and output transformers, well, that's probably why umph was asking what he'll be using. That said, I guess the main reason for building a v8 copy is because they're so difficult to get hold of, which is as good a reason as any, and better than most. A fair few people on here would be very interested in the results so post some pics/sounds if and when your mate gets it together. Mine's a Morphy Richards too! - could they be the steam ironing equivalent to Fender????
haha zing, your right because i was wondering because hammond don't really do anything big enough so he'll have to get custom jazz
 5. if hes up to it it should be possible, it's not the most simple amp ever. Do you know what iron he'll be using? The schematic makes it look alot more complex than it is by being quite hard to follow
 6. ad200 and bass terror have the same preamp
 7. all the new orange amps are terrible for it, i dont think one of them makes their wattage claim
 8. nice lead dress. not sure i like the lay out though
 9.
I tried one when they first came out, sat it on top of an Ampeg 8x10, I didn't really notice a difference... Ended up using a Hartke Transporter 2x10 with the ally cones, that had some cut to it! Used them with an 800RB that had a variable x-over built in.
thats your problem there the bright box isn't really gonna keep up with the ampeg is it in terms of output!
 10. bump still here make offers! great pick ups for a project!
Just some red grape wine, should be ready to drink now I'm just too lazy to bottle it. I've only made wine from pineapple juice so far which was pretty gross. I want to give beer brewing a go sometime because beer is generally tastier than wine to me. On topic: My orange distortion kit came today got some nice jade green spray paint for it, should be done tomorrow so I shall post some pics.
would recomend doing your own cider, beers good to though just normally ends up being a bit of a session brew.

 16.
Hi. A full scan would take me forever - there is a lot in there, I am happy to help if there is one in particular - perhaps do one or two a week. As I said, means nothing to me but as a piece of rare info I am happy that I have it, so it is staying with me. If anyone needs anything, let me know and I'll get round to it. Cheers.
could i borrow for a scan for my personal collection of schematics? pretty please
 17.
So what options are there for a dummy load? A 4-ohm lightbulb?!
there are the marshall power break type things, if you'd like to spend a little less though i can knock you up a box with some resistors and a fan in it or show you how.
 18. would love to crank my super bass through this! i'm not 100% on the price of these bass cabs but i know the guitar ones go for about that so your probably in the right ball park with that price
 19. stick amp on a dummy load, take xlr out into power amp bobs your uncle 1000watt valve amp. is my next current plan!
 20. oooh i'd love to have this off you if you wouldn't mind!
