1. If you can ship it I'll buy it! Bolton is just too far for me to drive there for it. Let me know...
2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TENNESSEE-15-STRING-EXTENDED-RANGE-BASS-/291630566887?hash=item43e6894de7:g:bJwAAOxycgVTixwQ £10,000,000.00 Buy it now. (or best offer) Anyone?
3. I'd like to take it off your hands please. PM'd.
4. Back in the day I would dream of a stack like that! I just went to the Trace Elliot website... Are they still going? It seems like their site hasn't been updated since 2008?
5. Change your strings, plug your tuner in and see what note you are getting from each open string, then check that these are the same notes at the 12th fret. It may also be worth going through the full range of notes from open to the 12th fret and check that they are all correct, it may be that its just one string that has a problem with its set up and is throwing everything else off when you play.
6. There were thousands of Mesa Boogie 400+'s around back in the day, not so many now.... Where are they all? Does anyone know of a broken 400+ that is still knocking around? I'd like to find one that I can use for parts. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks.
7. Hi all, I have a 2 week old Sky broadband router. I had it sent to me as a replacement until my fibre connection was fitted and that was today. Seems a shame to bin it... It replaced a Sagem one. Free to a good home, collection in Luton or W12.
8. Hi all, sorry for not getting back on here a bit quicker. Thanks for all the responses. Flyfisher: Photos? Ahh, yes they would help, Ill post some up asap. Dad3353: Those telephone plugs sound like they might be it. Ill have a search around and see if i can find one to try. Hugehands/Paul5: I think a bantam plug will be too small? More info... When I try to plug a 1/4" jack in, the hole is too small to, ahem, accomodate the plug (story of my life, honest). It looks to the eye that it will fit but is just a bit too small. I will put up some pics later with a jack so you can see what I mean. I dont suppose anyone can travel back in time and pick up an old switchboard cable for me?
9. Hi all, Thanks for popping in for a look. I bought an old Hofner guitar a while back, its got a Hofner pickup set on it that I presume was added after, but the input is not big enough for a 1/4" jack? Anyone got any ideas what size it is? The guitar is from around 1958-1962 apparently, so if that helps shed any light. All the people that i have asked that were playing back then don't seem to remember jack size changing. I thought it may have been a Metric/decimal thing? but that is a total guess... I have googled for the answer but not had any luck so far. Any ideas?
10. Had one of these. Didn't think much of it. Some people say its a classic, but I'm not sure being mass produced for a long time makes it a classic!? If any BC members have an unwanted Maverick bar kncoking around, I'd gladly take it of your hands. They are as rare as rocking horse sh*t! They had that great crunch that you just can't find these days, and you could get that real chewiness that just isn't the same in these modern bars. The remanufacture of the Wispa was a good idea though, and I don't usually go for solid state bars. Nice, but a bit plain for my taste. Some say Cadburys had it best back in the days before they were bought out, but I have always felt more comfortable with Nestle. With a nestle bar you can easily carry one in to a gig situation with ease, knowing that it will not let you down when you really need it. Over heating is less of a problem too, but maybe that's just pedal el preference? I also have been searching for an unused, mint condition Secret bar, but am having similar problems finding one of those too.
11. Hi all, I recently picked up this guitar (see link) as I just liked the look of it, obviously I normally go for basses and ignore the 6 string monsters that turn you into the beast known as a lead guitar player......... Anyway. It is currently with Robbie at RIM Basses getting some well needed TLC. Robbie has told me that the jack input is the very old (metric/pre-metric?) size jack ant that the leads we all use now are the wrong size. Anyone know where I can get my hands on the correct size cable so I can plug this baby in to my amp without having to butcher the input on the guitar? Any help or more info on this guitar greatly appreciated, especially a valuation. 12. Robbie from RIM Basses has it at the moment, He and John from Coda Music are going to have a look at it. The neck it split away from the body, but looks like it just needs re-gluing as its original glue has given up the ghost. They are going to give it a once over and let me know what the options are. I'm still unsure weather to sell it if its worth a few quid or just to keep it myself. But I do really like it, and feel strangely attached to it already, even though I cpould use the £££ from a sale fund my bass GAS.....
13.
There was a guy on one of the hofner collector sites that you could email, and he could spot anything, he got my congress down to a 1956, just by looking at the tailpiece. Sadly that was 10 years ago, is there a contact on any of the sites you looked at? There's some proper hofner nuts out there. They can help.
There are a few and I posted the pics in a couple of Hofner forums too. Have had a few different reactions though. Some say 1960's 455 and someone said as it is plywood (did I mention that on here?) and has the white binding it could be much earlier than 60's. The bridge and pick-up are hofner, but additions to the original guitar? I cant seem to find any pics of one like it anywhere though, especially that bridge pick-up set. Also with the pearl head stock with the tortoise shell(?) diamond/rhombus shaped inlay and the pearl fret board inlays. Im taking it to a luthier as it has some damage, but not sure what to do with it. Options are fix it up to a 'keep areound the house' level, total restore and sell or sell as is. But the reason I bought it was because I just thought it looked lovely, so will really only want to sell it or even fix it up if it is worth spend ing the ££ to make £££?
14. Yes its definately a Hofner, says Hofner on the body, top left, and engraved on the bridge. Not sure what the mods would be as the bridge is also engraved Hofner. It has a switch and two control knobs as seen in the picture, the switch goes either R or S. There is no label inside, and I cant find any serial numbers etc anywhere on it. I have looked on loads of Hofner sites but cant find one with that bridge/switch set up. Any ideas welcome.
15. Anyone know what this is? And yes before some one says "its a guitar!" Worked that out all by myself. More specific details would be great, model, age etc... Cheers.
16. £350 in your pocket and a feeling of good will to all BCer's or £500 in your pocket and a feeling of £500 in your pocket? I know what most would do when it comes to that sort of money. It is as I'm sure most will agree, always worth posting things on Basschat at "mates rates", that is part of what keeps this forum alive. You get good deals and you give good deals, but, sometimes you have to look after number one. With that said, I'll give you fifteen quid for it cash?

18. Are these still here???????? If you are looking to buy an amp or cab, look no further!!! What is wrong with Bass players these days??
