2. the domain name is taken, I looked into it about ten months ago and its being cyber squatted.
3. I think its an interesting idea but it should be separate from Basschat. Give me the weekend to figure something out.

Nice, is the body core maple with walnut laminates under the facings?
5. Melvyn Hiscocks wrote a book on guitar making. He also makes his own guitars, if you're on Facebook you can hit him up here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Melvyn-Hisco...rs/198415699967 No way of knowing if that signature is his or not but if you send him a link to this page, he might be able to help perhaps?
6. I really don't get why powered cabs are so much more expensive than combo amps. It doesn't make any kind of logical sense.
7. "Chocolate frog? Chocolate FROG? For this old thing? That's worth a newt if anything..."
8. The only single cut I like is the Fodera Beez Elite. All the others I've seen have been a bit wonky looking.
9. Welcome aboard Mike and hope you enjoy the forum. You must be pretty busy with 5 bands!
10. If you have a dremel or similar multitool they can often make short work of sanding the finish off the inside of the control holes and pickup routs.
11. ?
12. The truss rod probably needs to be tightened to introduce a little extra curve into the neck.
13.
Yeah, go on...I'll hold my hand up too! Either Monkey business in Romford or The bass centre in Wapping (when they were still upstairs). Reckon they'll be asking what shoes we gazed at? in 20 years, either that or what Wooten lick we ripped off!
I suspect it might be more of the jazz based widdly stuff. Basschat 2030..."Were you a widdler?"
14.

LOL I've been searching for a photo like that for years!
15. Hell yes, people liked listening to it when I did it in the 80's. In the 90's it was a bit ho hum and now I don't do it much at all, but slapping is still a good way of finding out what the bass can deliver in terms of attack and frequency response. I stand unashamed. In twenty years time what questions will be asked of how we play now?
16.
There's such an abundance of this I've had to get a left-handed mouse.
Aren't you left handed?
17. Stay on Basschat or the kitteh gets it.
18. probably overkill, not sure what benefits freezing the tubes offer on a stage when competing against a marshall stack and a wall of cymbals.
19. Too powerful for me. I need 650w at 4 ohms max.
20. If your amp is fixed bias like most Mesa's, you'll need to get tubes that are firstly all matched and secondly are matched at an acceptable rating for your amp. An amp tech can advise and Watford can supply.
21. Its an issue I had with my RB700 combo. GK will replace the wheels but won't guarantee the same thing won't happen again. I think someone made a booboo when it came to the rubber vulcanisation of those wheels.
22. I sent them an email asking about shipping and haven't had anything back from them yet.
23. FWIW I've bought from Absolute in the past and they've been very good. If there is an issue, I'm sure there will be an innocent explanation.
24. Having faith in american managers I've had over the course of my career. Every one, every SINGLE one has been dysfunctional. Technically very good but wouldn't understand empathy if it stood up and smacked them in the gob for looking at them funny.
25.
Late eighties sernie ball stingray's are regarded by many as THE best stingrays ever made
Naaah, just me. Nice looking bass, good luck with the sale.
