2. Folks, ive used Royal Mail standard parcels and not had any problems. Cocooned the bass in bubble wrap, a black bag, bubble wrap, a black bag and again in parcel tape and again in fragile tape. Costs about a fiver for the bits and bobs and about 12 quid postage with insurance - never had a problem and never had anyone say owt about it. Then thought id use a courier for my last bass and had a nightmare. I booked Citylink through Parcel2Go and it took them 3 days to pick up a "Guaranteed Next Day Delivery" parcel. Bear in mind i live less than 2 miles from the depot. Parcel2Go said I couldnt physically take the bass to the depot and had to wait until the "driver had time" to pick it up. Having said that, it was wrapped identically to what ive said above, and only cost me about a tenner inc materials. I guess people just need to trust the parcel services a bit more, and sellers just need to do a bit more - less of the "price drop" crap, and more of the "will ship at buyers expense".

 15. If you're gonna keep playing after you've got a blister, then leave it alone and "deal with it". I appreciate, being a fingerer myself that had the same problem, that it might not be the most comfortable of things to do, but the worst thing you can do is pierce the skin as the constant friction that your finger receives will just tear the hole bigger. I pierced a hole in mine once to drain the fluid before a gig, and decided to superglue it to seal the hole. Halfway thru the gig the superglue gave way and pulled the skin off the first "part" of my finger (ie half way between the tip and the bend). If you get a blister, then the best thing you can do is keep it clean, and dry, and soak it in surgical spirit as soon as you can, for as long as you can. The hot sand thing works for martial artists, apparently!

 20.
Never seen one of these before. Looks like a more balanced alternative to that TB sound!
You couldnt be any more right - this thing is an absolute beast of a bass - everything you could want, and more, anybody that buys it from here gets the Gator Hard Case with it too....
 21.
I loved my old trace stack. If I could still move it, id still have it I reckon.
Im a big TE fan, having recorded my first ever demo on a 4x10, 1x15 and SMX 12 band head stack..since then i went thru Peavey, and Ashdown amps and really struggled to get a decent enough "b*llocking sound out of it that i got thru that old stack.. Then i grew up, got some money together and bought a SMC150 Head, and the matching 1153 cab, and I use that everywhere now, i absolutely love the sound of it...yes, ok its difficult to pinpoint the right sound, and it sounds crap on stage when your standing 2ft away from it in a cramped pub, but it always sounds good in the crowd, and I love hearing people play my basses thru my kit, because it lets you know how your own kit sounds and how other people hear it. The only other decent amps ive played thru is an old 80's ampeg 8x10 stack that sounded ballsy, but too clacky for my liking, even with the tone/treble rolled off. Mark bass stuff is similar and lacks clarity in the high end stuff, Marshall, Ashdown and Peavey stuff hasnt got the balls unless you've got the big stacks (and not THAT great then) and Hartke stuff isnt up to the job at all.. BUT having said that, i do only play budget (less than £500 basses) and TE gives me the sound I like/want/need, so its all personal pref really!
 22. Evening all So, for sale/auction is my Epiphone Embassy Standard IV Bass Guitar, in a stunning Cherry finish, with black hardware. Ive owned it for about a year or so, and its been stored in my Gator Hard Case in my studio, so you can rest assured that its in great condition. When I bought this beauty there were a couple of really noticeable scuffs on the front, near the pickups and near the control knobs, along the contours, but after a bit of pro help i managed to more or less buff them out. Little ding at bottom of guitar but noting too serious. Since then its had a proper pro setup (and I mean proper pro setup, not some bloke with an allen key) so the action isnt buzzy low, but isnt achingly high - and even more recently, a brand new set of Stadium Elite Bass Strings have been fitted and have been worn in at a rehearsal. Of course, the neck is slightly angled so this thing can hold a note all day long. Tone wise, this thing is a beast. Its pretty much a Thunderbird, so has those lovely grumbly, rumbly deep bass sounds, as well as amazing, sweet highs. What makes it so versatile is the 2 Humbucker Pickups, so basically this bass is fantastic, no matter what you play (I play in a rock/pop/indie covers band (www.the-inspired.co.uk) and its perfect). According to Epiphone... Pickups: 730T Bass Humbuckers Hardware: Black Scale: 34" Nut Width: 1.65" Neck: Maple, Bolt On (4 Bolts I think) Fret Board: Rosewood, with Mother of Pearl dot inlays Body: Swamp Ash Finish: Cherry This is for sale at £150, and £15 postage! - You will also get a Gator Hard Case too if any of you lovely people decide upon it! any q's please ask! SOLD.
 23.
Hi all! I've bought myself a standard block logo Phase 90, and its great! Just the ticket for what I wanted. With the speed set at 12:00, you get a good tone for both songs. I can see this pedal also getting a lot of use during recording sessions on guitar. I'll add it to my pedalboard today and hopefully upload the changes later! Thanks to everyone who posted comments! Lorry
I tend to just use a chorus pedal with it pretty much on max whenever i play WFAA, just roll off the tone and you wont be far off, plus you save a fortune. Ive got a shorus pedal for lizzy, and just a bog standard chorus pedal for everything else just to make it easier thru the set
