2. Here we have a Japanese Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass. Made in the Fuji-Gen factory in 2005-06 The Aerodynes have a slab body with cream binding, PJ pickups and in these export versions, a Strat type jack socket and no scratch plate. The hardware is 'smoke' coloured by the factory (in case you think it looks tarnished) Got a few dings on the body and headstock, which is why the price is lower than normal for an Aerodyne. Perfect working order, with a nice snarl to it, but could probably do with a new set of strings. Everything is as it came out of the factory - totally standard Includes a rather battered semi-hard case and a strap (woo hoo!!!) Yours for £365 delivered to a UK mainland address - cheaper if you can collect from Truro, Cornwall
3. I've had....... An LM II A TTE500 2 F1's ...think I quite like Markbass Currently running a Geddy Jazz through a BDI-21 VT pedal, through an F1 and into a Barefaced S12T and I'm in tone heaven
4. *Mod Mode* There have been a couple of posts which might, just might, have come across as possible sale adverts. Please just remember that anything that looks like a sale ad outside of the 'official' channels will magically float off into the ether, never to be seen again Carry on * End of Mod Mode*
5. Greetings from Truro There's a few of us from Kernow on here, so you're not alone. Advice is one thing you'll never be short of on here, so ask away and Basschat will provide
6. No, I can't do it - it's too nice Just added a Behringer BDI-21 VT box and it's given me the bit of added grit that I was after, but still keeping all that valvey loveliness Sorry if you were tempted - maybe in a few months if an SVT3 pops up at silly money
7.
Good luck with the sale Dave.
Cheers Matt and thanks for the review link - I fully concur with what you've put there I thought this was the one, but as usual, there's always something else peeking round the door saying "Buy me, buy me" It's made 2 people very happy to own it, who's next?????
8. Sorry - now withdrawn from sale I thought I'd found the perfect amp, but Madame LaGAS has waved her magic wand again, so it's time to move it on. The Ashton BV300 - a full fat, no messing, simple EQ, 300W, all valve amp - just about sums it up really 6 (count them) KT88's in the engine room, with two 12AT7's and a 12AX7 driving the front end. Huge great toroidal transformer and a big box with side handles. Really good condition, with barely a scratch on it. Comes with a padded Roqsolid cover that was originally for an Ampeg V4, so I had to cut slots for the side handles, but it fits like a glove. Half the weight of an SVT CL, but still tips the scales at about 40lb, so not exactly pocket sized Lovely tone, and enough power to knock down the average pub wall. Really easy to bias the power valves, with a simple digital multimeter and a small screwdriver, so visits to the amp tech not really needed for that. If you're tempted with an all-valve amp, as I was, but don't want to shell out the big money for an SVT, then give it a go -she's a beaut!! Yours for £300 delivered to a UK mainland address - you can probably guess what the courier cost alone will be. Cheaper if you can come and collect from near Truro in sunny Cornwall Only trade I'd be interested in would be an Ampeg SVT3 Pro, with some form of cash adjustment your way.
9. I tried IEM's and didn't get on with them, for the 'isolation' reasons stated earlier. I use a Behinger F1120A active floor monitor and can't fault it for the money (about £150-£160)
10. I've had 2 HA3500's and play another regularly at a jam night. Massively, stupidly loud, and sound wonderful through a 410 cab Unloved by many, so cheap to buy. Well worth the small amount of money you need to spend on one
11. Just a small point. The SVT450 is a solid state amp, while the CL and VR are the all valve heads. Apples and Oranges?
12. I bought 40lb of all-valver from here recently. It arrived safely, wrapped in 2 good layers of bubble wrap, and then in that shredded cardboard made from old boxes - looks a bit corrugated - then in a sturdy box. IMHO, bubblewrap is your friend - it absorbs so much of the blow if anything gets dropped
13. Sold a Fender 800 to Grant. No problems. An easy guy to deal with Cheers
14. Press in the EQ button, the graphic lights up, but I get snap, crackle and pop out of the speakers. Really loud pops even on less than 1 on the master. Switch off the EQ and it's quiet as a mouse all the way to 10 and sounds lovely. I've read that Hartkes are prone to dry joints, and I've currently got the thing in bits, but I can't spot anything on the main board or the EQ board that looks remotely unusual. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm competent with a soldering iron and don't really want to spend a lot of money on it, as it's not an expensive bit of kit these days. However, when it's on form, it's a hell of an amp, so I'm loathed to scrap it Cheers
15. If you sell it, you'll buy another the following week. Mine, with a Markbass F1, has a wonderful, modern, clean sound. When I want something else, I wheel out the Ampeg 410 and the old skool, valver. Two horses, two courses, each one a winner
16. Bought an Ashton all-vale amp off Matt Not the easiest thing to get couriered, but Matt managed it perfectly. Well packed, arrived safely when he said it would, and works perfectly Top bloke
17. Thinking about buying my amp, not my impending divorce, I hope
18. Hup Hup Try me with a sensible offer - New amp arrived yesterday This needs to go, or I'm a single man again!!!!
19. Something on the way in, so let's get this bad boy on his way £295 delivered? It's pure madness, I tell you!!! Buy it - Buy it now
20. Reduced price for a quick sale, or maybe PX with an Ampeg SVT-3
21. First gig.......and last, I imagine
