1. Other than the fact the finish has worn away here and there (it's nearly fourty years old) There's a couple of notable marks which have been filled in. One is from what was obviously a thumb rest and the other looks like a mic stand/harmonic stand had been attached somehow. Not really that noticeable to me, but worth mentioning. Here we go
2.
Looking forward to seeing some pics, but forum rules say you must state an asking price in your post.
Yeah - I know - i was entering "tags" to the post, pressed "enter" and it posted the post. Please see all the bits n bobs. above. Ta, Jay
3. Ah! Allow me to continue... Price: £1500 Pictures
4. Hi fellow basschatters. Here's my 1973 Precision Bass. Serial number: 424910 Made in the Fullerton Factory in the good ol' US of A A great sounding bass, which is wonderfully light and has a awesome pick up which is lovely and responsive. I've had a few 70's P Basses before which were heavy and sounded dead. Fear not, this bass is a good un. If you're after a mint condition bass, click "back" now. This bass has been played and should continue to be, which is something I'm not doing at the moment. Notable features: Ash Body, light weight, Maple neck stamped by J. Torres, long "G" intonation bridge saddle,
5. super looking thang indeed. You're from Ipswich - not far from me! What band does ya play in? I'm selling a 73 Precision soon. If this still available, I'll have it for sure!
6. A stunning bass - Some please snap this up before I sell a member of my family to fund this! Raise the action and dig in... Hard! Alright!!!!
7.
Sorry to be so suspicious but this seems to me to be a very strange JV. Export JV P-basses were never available in Black with a Black plickguard. Everything else looks like an export '62 - It has the full clover leaf rivetted reverse vintage tuners and the cloth covered wiring. Also I can't see clearly from the pics if it has threaded bridge saddles or not, the export 62 JVs did but the Domestic JVs didn't. Domestic JVs (which may have been available in black/black) had different tuner key shape with no rivet through the tuner stem. i can only assume it's had a refinish at some time?
Thanks for the informative post. I would say you seem more curious than suspicious which is all dandy by me. Although the bass is staying put, I shall try to answer your queries anyways. It quite possibly had a refinish at some point. Where the bucklerash has worn the black finish away it looks like wood underneath, but this could be from an original sunburst finish. The bridge saddles are threaded, which would indicate that it indeed is an export model. The black pick guard has no obvious markings to imply it's original or not. The reverse tuners do have a rivet going through them. That was probably as helpful as a chocolate candle holder.
8. Guys, I must've had a mad moment. I'm no longer going to be selling this ol' JV. I had planned to sell it on to fund the purchase of a 1973 Precision which I got a month or so ago. However after alternating between the two over the past two weeks, I prefer the JV and will be selling the 73 on instead. If someone could please let me know how to update the ad title that would be great. I have tried, but it doesn't seem very obvious. Many thanks for all your kind comments and interest too. Jay
9.
you have PM!
Replied
10. They're not far from you - go see it and offer them £100. There's a few scratches on it, so I figure £100 is about right.

16. Weekend bump. I do however have someone coming to look at it tomorrow afternoon. Yay.
17. cheers for the compliments guys. Great to see people appreciating it's good looks etc.
18. Hello fellow Basschatters, I'm selling my 1982 JV Squier Precision Bass. It has one of the nicest necks I have ever played and the body is reasonably light too. The pick ups are very responsive and there's plenty of life left in the frets. There's bucklerash on the back and a cigarette burn on the headstock (this was present when I bought it years ago) . A few marks here and there but nothing major to mention at all. Please have a gander at the pictures. Any queries, let me know. I will take better pictures at little later in the week. Alternatively, If you've got £600, you can come and take it from me.
