1. Hi I played a Rockinbetter Rick copy and found it to be pretty good. They have powerful pick-ups and all the range of a Ricky. The finish is very good too. You can't really compare the two as they are very different to play. The Fender is probably better to start with, and should be easier to find. Hope this helps. Ellie
2. ECB did a 50th b/day bash Sat, We ended up doing a 45min encore so I guess it was good lol!
3. Hi Garey & Warwick! Good to see you here. I've been a Warwick fan for years, I now own three! We all find certain guitars that suit us and for me it's Warwick. I know a few bassists who have chosen them after hearing mine maybe I should be on the sales team lol (Joke) Anyway keep up the good work. cheers Ellie
4.
Hi Matt, Im having me second bash at 50....and not doing very good.....but i'll keep plugging away....welcome aboard.
Hiya seen a few born again bassists on here keep at it
5.
A few minutes with a set of allen keys might get them playing the same though. A tiny variation in the relief on the neck can make a massive difference to how a bass feels.
Hi Very true. but there are other things as well,.fit and finish, etc. I still had to reset that bass to the way I like them.
6.
I try and avoid these discussions as one mans high end is another mans mid range, all relative and unless someone forces you to buy them a bass I don't see as its anyone else's business. I have my eye on a few basses around the 2k mark is that high end? I don't know.
Sounds good to me. It really doesn't matter to me how much they cost, it's how they play in my hands. I went in a shop once and played four basses of the same type that all played differently. I picked the one I liked best!

Hi everyone

Hi ya and welcome
8. Hi ya Welcome to the club. best of luck with your quest. You should find what you want very soon I should think.
9. Hi ya Welcome to the club
10. I'll be going if my band isn't working, I enjoyed the last one!
11. Hiyas welcome! Pretty big rig you have there. The best thing to happen for me was TC electronics bass rigs. I can't actually move a big 4x12 cab (weak woman) lol, TC gear is light but sounds great. and I can get all my gear in the back of my Focus cabrio.
12. Hiya I have another bass cab I no longer use up for grabs. It's a Behringer 4x10 1000w cab I gigged with it up till about 18months ago. It has the odd mark here and there but to be honest it's still pretty good with no rips or dents. I never thrashed it so it sounds like new. These are quite cheap though I'm not sure the company still makes this one. I'm asking £150 as I think it's a bargin at that price but of course it's up to you! I look after my gear so nothing I sell is going to be rubbish. Because of it's size I wouldn't want to post it, but I can arrange delivery up to 100miles at cost if that helps. For sale

Hiya I'm still sorting out more unused gear. I have a Tanglewood violin bass up for grabs this time. It's a great little bass with a good tone, not that far away from the Hofner! It's about 6-7years old I think, there are pix of me gigging with it from around that time. I didn't really use it that much so it's pretty much like new. I'm asking £150 for it which I think is reasonable. As I say it is fine for gigs or as a fun bass for little money! I'll even throw in a set of black rotosound trubass strings that I bought for that vintage sound but removed as they didn't suit my style of play. I have accumulated far too much gear over the years and have to slim it down a bit lol. cheers Ellie
14.
Thanks for the welcome! I have a Rickenbacker.....what else do you need
Welcome Only one bass....That won't last Always good to have a spare, just in case. Then another, & another I used a Ricky as my main gigging bass for years, In fact I've just had it serviced. I mainly use Warwicks now. I worked with a band many moons ago who did a couple of Budgie songs. Sadly underated band.
15. Hiyas, good luck. There's a lot of good advice here. One thing I would say is, go find a shop with a good selection of basses if you can. It's much better to actually get the "feel" of the instrument if you can. Some shops do have good deals too.
