1. Welcome callum. Nice one finding the forums so soon after starting. Have a search, you'll find some fantastic advice.
 2. That looks fantastic! There's definitely something about blocks on a jazz that balance the whole look out.
 3. I swear I remember your introduction. I must be going potty. Glad you're here, Steve.
 4.
Get a red tort on that pronto !
with a maple neck? Maybe b/w/b, but it looks great as it is!
 5. +1
My wife and kid still love it. I was playing along to my band's live desk recording and I can manage most of it on the stick. I must be pretty much in tune as well as Mrs OldGit has no respect for my delicate feelings when pointing out poor tuning in my playng - she has a real orchestral training background .. She's said nowt aboout it so far .. She likes my trick of stepping over the bass and going around the neck pole dancing whailst playing one number that's just G and D - opportunities for cool stage moves spring to mind All in all I think I'm getting on Ok with the we beastie ..
6. +1
A nice "vintage" touch is that the tuners say West Germany!
That makes it for me! Although, why don't you see curly bubinga anymore?
 7.
Really nice & playable bass - bit sad to have sold it, on reflection, but it didn't feel or sound right for the band - and they all have to justify their existence by being something I'd gig with. Mine was a Grabber (single sliding pup, bolt-on neck) rather than a Ripper, which has a set neck & twin pups. I'd probably buy another if I got the chance! J.
I didn't know much about them, but I definitely like the flying-V headstock. And it has to be Natural with black pg and h/s. And foam! That was perfect Apparently the actual Gibsons aren't that great; very heavy with uncomfortable necks.
 8.
No offence but I totally disagree with you there! For me, the value of the show is to sit through the whole thing and experience a lot of different types of music/artist that I wouldn't normally get exposed to. I think that there's value to be found in all music if you just make the effort to look for it. I for one enjoyed the Only Ones. The beauty of music is that it can be sloppy and thrown together and still be fun and entertaining. The punk ethic was hardly to practice all night for 10 years was it?!?
Yay!, +1 It's exactly why I watch the show, and probably JHs reason for doing it. A noble reason at that.
As someone who is old enough to have watched the Wistle Test it did have a lot of Wispering Bobs country crap on it as well. The later punk shows were better.
For me read: The later punk shows were crap. It did have a lot Whispering Bobs country that were better
 9. 'Transparent Red' I guess. Yours looks great, Linus. I keep changing my mind over colours.
 10. I use one whilst watching The Simpsons. It doesn't have a rev counter though.
 11. Which colour is this?! ..I do like the look.
 12.
Didn't you see this one, Paul? Post no. 241.
How was the one you had? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=120219987488
 13. I haven't got my headphones, but the name's really fun. Just go for it!
 14. Dazed and Confused. I just saw JPJ playing. Hadn't realised he uses foam.
 15. Well, it looks like you've successfully hijacked the Stagg!!! thread. Thinking about upright playability but with added portability and cheap price, an EUB seems the right option, but why use a stand? Uprighters don't play with a stand do they? Is it to stop the bass swiveling about on its spike?
 16.
1st class delivery to the land of fail.
You so down with the e-kids! *gang signs*
 17. That Takamine is pulling on my heart strings. Wish I could have a play. Best of luck with the sale.
 18. Lusting for a PE200 I don't actually want one, but I haven't seen this thread in a while. Although the pickups would probably be quite knackered(sp?) by now.
