  1. bumping for the final time...then withdrawing from sale...
  2. tbh chaps i feel a little sorry for the seller. This is a high end stingray as is indicated by the neck wood, through strung classic bridge. If it has been modded by shuka its all the better for it and a lovely job. Surely some of the discussion could have been done by pm rather out on the marketplace? The serial number will of course indicate the original spec, but as long as its a real musicman..it is what he says. Its a lovely looking classic ray with (possibly) choice mods, whats not to like. glwts.
  3. HI Here, I am selling a Combustion 5 Dingwall. First up its in perfect condition. Setup is great, currently sporting a healthy set of Dingwall strings. As you can see from the photos is trans black over Ash. Three band graphic, 4 way pickup selector and volume. Passive/active switch (the standard Dingwall pre-amp, not the darkglass) . The switch is black now as opposed to the silver in the photographs. I love this bass, its very distinctive a real pleasure to play. The sustain on this beast goes on forever! even has a funky magnetic battery cover. Also routed at the factory for the the NG2 pcikup layout (although you'd have to cahnge the scratchplate to a NG2 layout as well. Playing the fan fret layout is an easy jump in my experience, I am no bass genius but its ok, with a little bit of work. The lower 7 frets or so are pretty much like normal with a little bit of adjustment, the higher register on the D and G are bit more work to learn. Very comfortable bass to play all in all. Selling because I have to, not 'cos i am bored! Comes with a good solid (non dingwall) flightcase. Weight is under 4kgs. I am based in the Medway Towns, work in East London so visit or meetup are in those areas. Will drop it of personally if you are somewhere in Kent or its environs for petrol money and a cup of decent coffee.
  4. Sure, can ship to france. UPS charge about 40 euros approximately.
  5. US subs are the doggies danglies had a few of those. Never know why I end up selling them tho... weird. (me and the concept..)
  6. lots of points of view and thanks to all. Plan in head. Execution phase begins...
  7. lol. Yes all paid up. Just floating the idea, market is tough atm (hence a lot of sitting around wondering what will sell I suspect) and in the end I would land up with 'what people dont want' so still mulling the approach. Clear out is coming though, just the mechanism to execute it.
  8. some of 'em are not easy losses tho.. (dingwall, marucszszszszszyk, spector, yamaha) lucky to have 'em but .....
  9. Seriously considering a last man standing clearout. Over the last half year or so I have accumulated just too much i am a terrible magpie for all things bass.. I currently own 3 five strings, 4 four strings and a fretless, 2 (2*12) cabs a 4*10 and a markbas 2*10 original cab that needs reconing. Various pedal and assorted emphemera... Kind of tempted to put the whole lot up for sale a keep the last 5 stringer, last 4 stringer and last cab. Kind let the fates decide....anyone else tried something like this??? regetted it? great idea?
  10. Is this a passive bass, I had a covette and the pre amp was a stacked concentric knob...how are the controls laid out on this please like a std jazz bass??
  11. Weight of the overwater (sorry for the delay) is about 10 1/2 lb according to the bathroom scales...
  12. Surplus to requirements , just over a year old, save a packet on new... Sales speil: Featuring four custom-made 10" drivers and a 1" titanium, the K410 really packs a punch in delivering generous amounts of low-end power with a clear, precise bass tone and with 600W power and 8 Ohms impedance, you're guaranteed tight and loud response. This versatile bass cabinet can also be stacked either horizontally or vertically and can also be paired with any other K-series cab to achieve richer and deeper tones enabling a world of options.

  14. I will check when i get in from work. Its not a back breaker...(i.e not ash...lol)
  15. 5 string active Overwater bass, in blue. Overwater bespoke hardware and pre amp, Maple /abalone block fretmarkers. I have two other go to 5 stringers so this isn't getting the use it deserves. V nice bass and the 5 string is a little rarer than the 4 or so i have read. I have re-strung, polished the frets, and generally cleaned and titivated it ready for the next owner. A couple of dints but nothing ugly. May consider trades or part trades.
  16. Have played this...its a beauty, lighter than you'd expect, very comfortable.
  17. Hi slightly off message. what did you do with the old pickups..and would they be for sale if available??
  18. Not that I can afford it...but how much is it going for, I have no idea how much these go for 2nd hand
  19. Just found this tech spiel it is a bass designed by Brian Bromberg and made by Peavey for a few years. I believe the B Quads (they also made a 4 string) are the finest and most expensive basses Peavey has ever made. The neck is graphite and made for Peavey by Modulus. It has two VFL pickups (neck and bridge) plus piezo pickups in the bridge saddles. The bass features optional stereo output. The switch controls Mono vs Stereo output. And it has 2 output jacks, for when you want to use Stereo. The 2 magnetic pickups (the VFLs) output equally to both L and R in Stereo, but each Piezo pickup has an individual Pan pot (and Gain trim pot) that can be accessed through the control cavity cover on the backup. Those Pan pots let you adjust each string to be panned however much you want to whichever side you want. I never use it this way, myself. I just set the Pan pots to all centered, so the bass sounds the same whether it's in Mono or Stereo mode. The controls include a Master volume, individual volume controls (stacked) for each VFL pickup, and a separate volume control for the Piezo pickups. There's a 2-band boost/cut EQ (stacked, bass/treble) for the VFLs. And there's a Passive Tone control for the Piezos. The sound is just flat-out incredible. Peavey VFL pickups (as are used in the Cirrus line) are known to be fantastic. But then the piezos add another dimension - some warmth, to my ear - that just takes the Cirrus sound up a level. The neck is the Modulus graphite neck. You can get action that is so low.
