Thanks everyone, once again, superb advice. JTUK - I understand what you are saying, but the band is just year old and beggars can't be choosers (and it's our local!) A stand it is!

Thanks chaps, the help is appreciated. They are only small pub / club gigs. It's our PA and I don't go into it, just the acoustic instruments (guitars, mandolin, banjo), keys and vox. We have two monitors but I'm obviously not part of the mix in those!

The last couple of gigs I've played, space has been pretty tight and I've ended up standing next to my amp (8 x 5 PJB suitcase combo and cab). I'm wireless so I can get out front during sound checks and it's sounding great, but I can't hear a damned thing standing next to it apart from the odd parping sound. Any ideas? Should I use a single in-ear or something like that? Please, any advice welcome, this is driving me mad! Cheers Chris

Beautiful. really beautiful. Gagging to try that fretboard. Saw them in the Bass magazine a couple of months ago. Lets us know what you think. -
...as long as the loop's set at the right level, which is a whole other can of worms).
Yes, just been read an ovnilab article about this. Now I'm really confused!

Do you guys try different pedals before the amp and in the loop? Some of my pedals run with far less noise in the loop, but some of the dirt pedals sound like crap if they are not before the amp. It means a lot of cables running from my board! Is this the usual way of doing it? Bit of both?

BRAND NEW Catalinbread SFT SOLD Due to a stupid mix up (don't ask), I purchased two Catalinbread SFT pedals from the US, so you lucky people have the chance to get one of them for the same money I paid, [s]£138.00[/s] £130.00 (I'll include postage to a UK address). Luckily I didn't get stung for duty and VAT These are not available in the UK at the moment, God knows I've been trying for weeks. Hopefully this will save someone the grief of ordering from the States. It's obviously pristine. It's been opened, tested and put back in it's anti-static bag and box. It's the latest one with the metal knobs, exactly as the picture below. PM me for Paypal details.

Had one of these for about two weeks now. Again, can't comment on how realistic the amp models are, but I can get some gorgeous fat, warm tones out of this thing - using the Ampeg model as a starting point. I've set up about 6 patches that work well for our current set list, including a great tone for my Kala Ubass that I use for a couple of numbers. The one thing I don't like about it is that you can't seem to have an amp model AND dirt pedal at the same time as they are in the same 'module' set. It would have been good to be able to overdrive the amp models with the expression pedal. Maybe you can, but i can't see how! So I'm going to try an overdrive pedal with the B2.1u - I'll see how my Cat' SFT works with it. But for small gigs and practices, when I don't want to lug the PedalTrain, this thing is epic. Best 60 quid i've spent on pedals in a while. Easy to programme too, but headphone output is on the quiet side though.
If you have an always on gentle OD, then a twin channel is unbeatable in allowing you to switch up to heavy OD. I was not as concerned because I have distortion and fuzz to cover most of the step ups I need. I still want OD but will get a solution that takes up less board space (looking at a SFX micro red dragon or a smaller DHA).
Sorry resurrect this, but I'm looking at DHA pedals at the moment. I was condering a catalinbread sft as the utube vids show it as a nice clean always on tube emulator that gets overdriven when you dig in. Do the DHA pedals work in the same way? Cheers Chris

Shippers is a well respected and supportive veteran of the Swansea music scene. He has aged a couple of parts for my Jazz Road Worn and I was delighted with his work. While I was there he showed me some of the relics he was working on and to my eye they were very good. From our brief meeting he enjoys his work enormously and takes great pride in doing the best he can. His customers love what he does.

SOLD - Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator - £55 posted - new photos
Walker replied to Walker's topic in Effects For Sale
Hi Scott I managed to get some good sounds out of this by rolling off the treble and playing up near the neck. With my amp and passive j bass, the piezo setting worked best with a touch of reverb, but there is lots to experiment with. I couldn't find clips either so I took a punt and it served me well until I got my ubass. I paid £79.00 for this second hand, so if it doesn't work out for you, you'll get your money back on eBay!!! I wouldn't offer it on here if I thought it wasn't any good, but with my rig, I was pretty happy and could dial in a pretty convincing tone. Hope this helps, Chris
