1. Thanks for the advice guys, really appreciated.
2. Sorry, should have mentioned, my bass doesn't go through the PA, my cabs provide ALL the bass! We only play small pubs / parties and so far, my 300w PJB Suitcase combo and ext cab (8x5) has been sufficient.
3. Trying to get my head around this. So I could use those two 210's and just get a more powerful head to get to gig volumes? Our PA is only 500w Yamaha Stagepas and everything goes through that. Drums arent miked. Or would i need a bigger cab too?
4. I've spent hours reading JimmyM's posts over the past few months - alway useful! I think I would really like tubes I think. I havent had a good look at the Ampeg range yet - but on first glance the CL looks interesting. We are not a loud band and don't play to more than a couple hundred people, but our drummer does like to hits things hard!
5. Top man, thanks for the VT2 Liam - appreciated your time today! Chris
6. Just spent an hour playing with the ampeg micro. Loving it. I want a big one now for gigging. What would be a good big brother to this micro, a CL? Amazing tone, really happy!
7. Thanks bartelby! Appreciate the play on your kit. Beautiful instrument, sounded amazing. Seriously considering one now. Thanks all.
8. Thanks for that JTUK. No, no speakons I'm afraid, just 1/4" TS jacks.
9. Thank you! He made me a great cable for my wireless setup, so be very happy to use his speaker cables too!
10. Wondered if anyone can help, just bought my first non-combo amp, an Ampeg Micro VR and two SVT 2x10's. Picking it up next week Just wondered, what is the sensible max speak cable length from head to cabs? And is speaker cable different to my instrument cables? Seperates are a little alien to me! Cheers Chris

12. Morning, I saw Wild Beasts last night, don't know anything about them, went with a friend who is a big fan. I was right at the back with a belly full of beer but I could have sworn there were three basses on stage at a couple of points. Has anyone else seen them? Is my eyesight that bad? Three basses? Great gig though.

15. Cheers Pete, must admit, I'm more than a little scared after reading that lot!
16. Hi there, I'm in Bristol for the weekend seeing Wild Beasts. Can any locals recommend any good music shops (that stock bass gear) that I could visit for a browse while the wife is hitting the clothes shops? Cheers! Chris
17. Thanks Rev, I have been on the lookout for the NS model you mentioned. price is about right and as you say, can easliy move it on without too much of a loss. I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but is making the transition from bass to EUB a mammoth task?
18. Wow, thank you everyone, that is really appreciated! I'm in cardiff a lot so I'll give Gamlins a call and try that first. Thanks again
19. Hello, I've had a bit of a hunt, does anyone know of any dealers / stores that carry EUB's in south Wales or Bristol? Or maybe a teacher around Swansea or Cardiff? I would really like to try one for a few moments to see if it's a love or hate thing! I really want it to be 'love' but don't want to take a punt buying one online. Been thinking about this for months now and finally decided to do something about it. Cheers Chris
20. A' few quid off' type bump. Now £130 posted.
21. Lucky man, I was after this too. I've got a suitcase and ext. cab and love it!
22. A bit more info bump... I was chatting to Douglas Castro of Darkglass about placement when I was using this with my B3K... he said... "I like to place it after the B3K because it allows me to change the equalization of it, so you can make it either warmed, or more percussive, and also use it as a volume boost for solos... so yes, after it is my number one choice!" Same would go for any dirt pedal I suppose, although I do move my EQ pedals around in the chain to see how they affect different pedals. Was wonderful in front of my DHA VT1.
