1. Some find that the smoke can get in the throat and can bugger up your voice.
2. Not a frequent visitor the the great metropolis but Denmark Street and Charing Cross Road are where I head when I go there, however, I have been heard to exclaim, "How much?", on occasion.
3. Have a look here, http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/. Might surprise you.
4. Any good with woodworking tools? Build a pair of BFM Jacks or Otops 12s and T39s. Martin quality at Behringer prices. http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/
5. Many thanks. It certainly is a great amp.
6. I bought my Carvin B1500 new and it has performed faultlessly at every gig. It’s a monoblock so no messing about with 2 power amps and bridging and it’s 2ohm stable and capable of 1900 watts. This amp is a tone monster and the drive control does a pretty fair imitation of a ‘valve’ sound. The photos show the amp mounted in a flight case but this is not included in the sale. I do have the original packaging for postage. A few links here for more info and the manual which should answer any questions you may have. I’m after £450 and am more than willing to post. Courier is £10 without insurance. Insurance is an extra £35. 7. +1 for Hotrox. I hear bad things about Watford Valves.
8. No, let's carry on and I'll raise you an A#.
9. Sorry, but I feel that it's gone so far down hill that I doubt I'll be renewing my subscription.
10. I suppose that it all depends on when you first picked up a bass as to who influenced you. I started playing in 1965 so those were my influences.
11. Mornington Crescent? How did you get there so quickly and what rules did you play by? I'd of thought that Paul McCartney, Jack Bruce and John Entwhistle had a major hand in defining what bass was about, for me anyway. 12. That's rubbish. What if the band don't have electronic drums, are you supposed to play drum less and no monitors, how do you hear what's going on?
13. Try this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SELF-ADHESIVE-BLACK-CARPET-Sound-Proofing-Acoustic-Van-Car-Sub-Box-Shelf-Trim-/180986152433?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a239d85f1&_uhb=1
14. Always use EMGs. Got a pair of Jazz and a P/J set and run them on 9v without any problems. Love the sound and definition. Not used a lot else since trying EMGs.
15. One of these. Fit side windows and install one or two rows of seats behind the driver. Add a bulkhead after the seats and put all the gear in the back and away you go. Ours seats 9 plus the driver, that's me. All arrive at the same time so all have to carry the gear. http://www.whatvan.co.uk/Hi-Res-Pics/Sprinter-311-06-RT1hr.jpg
16. One of these. http://www.shergold.co.uk/images/gallery/hpc_custdbl124_1.jpg
17. They're not that expensive to buy. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-AUSTRALIAN-ABALONE-Luthier-Dots-Inlay-Fret-Side-Marker-All-Sizes-/160726539926?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&var&hash=item256c0c5e96&_uhb=1
