There are some good Facebook pages/groups where you can sell gear free. They have been ok for me, for example I couldn't sell my Thumb here but it went quickly on FB. UK Bass gear for sale trade, Bass market UK etc.
What Karlfer said! I sold my Warwick through one of those groups last week. Very easy and totally free of course...

That looks pretty nifty indeed. I can't bear spending sll that money on Sibelius for the rare occasions I actually need it. Was considering Sibelius First...

*Sold!* I'm selling my virtually brand new Warwick WCA 408 LW CE Cabinet, used only three times!! I bought this a couple of months ago to replace my old 115ND cab in the hope of getting a broader set of sounds. It sounds absolutely fantastic (especially with the new LWA1000 amp) but is a little heavier than I'd hoped. I live in a first floor flat and my car is often quite a walk so I need to change this for something a little lighter. It only weighs 22kg but I am too tempted by the idea of the Aguilar SL112's which can be lifted one-handed! Here's the specs: Warwick WCA 408 Celestion Lightweight Cabinet, Bass Cabinet, 600 Watt, 8 Ohms, 4 x 8 "Celestion Speaker with 4" Celestion Neodymium Horn, SPL 94dB, Frequency range: 65 Hz - 20 kHz, bass reflex enclosure, robust metal grill, 2 x 6, 3mm jack coax combo jacks (lockable), dimensions whd: 520 x 540 x 400 mm, weight: 22 kg As I said this is virtually brand new. Cheapest these go for (and I don't think anybody stocks them yet in the UK) is £508.24 from Thomann. I've used this on three gigs only and looked after it well so it's pretty much mint. Looking for £400 or will trade for an Aguilar SL112 in the same condition. I'm only selling it to get one of these so no other trade offers please!

Boo! Hiss! Surely they must realise the vast majority of music-type folks are Mac/iOS users?? It's madness I tell you!
I can't find anything else about it . Is it April 1st yet ?
Oh PLEASE don't let this be an April Fools joke!!

Ouch! I considered doing that with some of mine once. Until I thought about the reality of actually doing it! A nice string quartet arrangement was in the back of my brain for a future project...

The interface looks awesome. As a total non-pianist if I want to score something out on a computer I have to input each note manually with the keyboard/mouse which takes forever. This is how I want to write notation!!
This looks amazing, I've spent about 6 hours so far today entering stuff into Sibelius. They have to release this for iOS too. Are you using it now?
I love this record! Really beautiful music. Definitely recommended
Thanks for the recommendation Steve! Much appreciated. Hoping I can gather the troops to embark upon Volume II at some point! -
I'm slightly concerned by "There are scuffs and signs of use around the finish." but it looks OK otherwise.
If that's their idea of scuffs and signs of use I wonder what they consider a write-off?! Signs of use by who? Pete Townsend?!
RRP £69.99 but this totally useless guitar can be yours for the bargain price of £32 http://www.ebay.co.u...=item51cdf8db06
That's definitely more than £37.99 worth of repairs right there!
Hi all, Just a quick question! Looking for recommendations for an electric/acoustic bass with an upright sound. Been looking at those Kala U-Basses although open to options. Would something like a fretless Hofner do the job? Not really interested in an EUB as such - just trying to get some options Thanks in advance for advice or opinions Danny
As it goes I do have an acoustic bass up for sale on here at the moment. It's a lovely Breedlove and it sounds great. I use phosfor bronze strings for a zingy piano-like sound but apparently they sound quite uprighty with those Pyramid tape- wound strings on. Seen some nice videos on YouTube where people have gone in that direction. PM me if you're interested...

I sold a bass to Keith this week and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Makes a very nice cup of tea too!

Hi there. I both both basses all the time so I've often tried to get a convincing upright sound from the electric when I just have the one bass on a gig. No electric bass will sound like an acoustic upright unfortunately. Fretless basses sound even less like an upright. You can achieve a vague approximation with mist basses by adjusting your right hand technique and playing with the sides of your fingers right over the fingerboard (gives that slight growly sound). Especially with flatwound strings- Thomastiks are best for this. I've tried every electric upright around and the only one that gets close is the Yamaha SLB200. A fantastic instrument that has a rich upright bass tone and sounds beautiful with a bow too. Which is über-rare! I've been hankered after a Kala U-bass for a while now. The mahogany fretted version (typically, the most expensive one at around £495) is the most convincing and is lovely to play. Oddly, the fretless version sounds mirr like a fretless bass than an upright. So if you want a new instrument, go Kala or Yamaha depending on what you want to spend. But I'd recommend trying a set of Thomastik Jazz Flats http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/strings-c1/bass-guitar-strings-sets-c34/thomastik-infeld-thomastik-jf344-4-string-jazz-flatwound-43-100-bass-guitar-strings-p842/s884?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=thomastik-infeld-thomastik-jf344-4-string-jazz-flatwound-43-100-bass-g-thomjf344&utm_campaign=product%2Blisting%2Bads&gclid=CNLNwOucw8QCFVDHtAod7ncA7A first with the wonky right hand trick!
Owning a Breedlove acoustic bass myself, albeit a different model in fretless guise, I too spent an age before plumping for the Breedlove. I can attest to the quality tone both plugged in and as a pure acoustic and the quality of fit and finish for its price point. GLWTS!
They are great instruments and in my opinion sound much better than the majority of higher priced ABG's...
