G&L L1000

Found it on what...! However, it looks like a real beauty, I love g&l's, they dont have the kudos over here, but dont let that put you off, they are what you said..."more fender than modern ferkin fenders" Maybe a new thread there I think.

G&L L1000

Hi, I have a BABP wunkay on order....get in quick, the piccy is of my fretless, they are great basses, passive with the MFD pup, a 3 position switch with the well documented OMG setting that is near earthquake ! an interesting if one dimensional bass but then so is the precision, isnt it? Early basses were often mahogany bodied and known as 'hogs' across the pond , I believe, go and get one...
4. Lol, every answer from every angle possible, what more can you want. ;-)
5. im in a 3 piece pub band and wanted the same thing, we got 2 par 56 cans with clamps, one a side clamped onto the speaker tripod stands to give a colour wash, on or off, cheap and cheerful but makes all the difference.
6. pm'd
7. When I wanted to try a 5, I purchased an aria that kinda looked like a p bass, as ive got small mitts I enjoyed the small neck, I ended up throwing the body away as it was cardboard and a luthier made me a stingray body with emgs, the neck was the only bit worth keeping
8. I use ultra from the states, a little over square than the regular pp3, so they are a bit snug in the std duracell slot, but they are lithium , i think, but seem to be real long life givers. whaoo, ive lost the plot, they dont seem to alter the tone etc of my g&l's or mm's.

SOLD

However they are the nuts, if you have to play double bass and dont own a removals van then these are sweet, there has been slight issues with mine but overall an amazing tool to put in your arsenal. BUMP.
10. Just a little thing I noticed whilst lusting at the piccys, it has a bullet truss rod adjuster neck and the latter scratch plate to accomodate the newer bottom adjuster truss rod, but all the same, beautiful.
11. I just got a boss br micro, its turning into a great bass trainer, many fine drum and metronome times in it plus all the other reasons for using it and its an mp3 player etc...
12.
i bet he's got his mates to up the bidding...not that I've ever resorted to such tactics
LOL, my mother in law won a set of my old astra alloy wheels that way, years ago...
13. Yeah, you've gotta be cute these days, I normally open another browser page, copy and paste item into google and check the item out, as you can get mugged of really easily.
14. There you go, all the above is true, but dont forget, returns are a bit tricky, scammers are out there, I normally check feedback, ask a few questions and get the feel for someone, plus you do get paypal protection and instant money exchange even if they cream a bit off, then you have the wait, parcels normally have a tracking code with them so you can keep an eye on their progress, but touch wood, everything ive done has worked out ok, even down to a bass a guy posted via usps just in its unlocked case with a small bit of paper with my name and addy on it, plus the stick on clear plastic declaration envelope, I couldnt belive it was in the case and in tune !
15. Im not trying to start a piccy war, just a bump from a G&L fan, my L25 is an amazing instrument, if you want a great 5'er then thats gotta be the one. BUMP.
16. A thought, Its in Italy and as this is a uk based forum it may put people off as shipping prices etc need to be explained, also, what px's would you consider...bump.
17. I use a 'Dean' 'bass in a box', about fag packet size with a belt clip and headphones mini socket, 3 vol position and 3 tone positions, its perfect.
18. Welcome, all of bass life is here for you to enjoy...
19. http://www.bassnw.com/contents.htm has tons of new and used basses, worth a browse and ship worldwide.
20.
There's a lot of love Marco, just no money!!
+1, thats pretty much on anyones upper limit and the sabre is a great bass, but only worth what someone will pay, they are the same in dollars across the pond and at 2 to the pound you could have a holiday too.
21. Bump, I gigged one to death in the 90's with the extension 1x10 + 1x15 cab, the best sound ever, front panel power amp and seperate pre amp, ev powered, if you put wheels on it, then most problems apart from picking it up are solved. buy, buy, buy.
22.
100% agree! It's common courtesy..
+ 1.
23. I play this in a band and put my own pops and slap in the fill section, as long as it sounds right, not clumsy and its in the pocket then by and large a comfy approximation is fine, otherwise you would be a session player on high rollin gigs like the top geezers...
24. whats the band Bassjase , as I know alot of the east anglian bands as ive spent the last 2 years playing up that way ?
25. If its running passive then I guess it'll sound like a g&l 1K which despite the 'sweet spot' issue would still sound good.
