  1. If you go studio monitors it still won't feel right because the "feel" issue (and oddly the claustrophobia issue too!) will be down to latency. You could try adding a little mixer so you can monitor yourself directly via headphones, rather than having to wait on the return loop from the laptop. I was using a tiny little behringer for this until quite recently.

Otherwise nearly ANY used bass practice amp will be an improvement on the guitar amp. I always recommend either the Roland Bass Cube 30 or the Line6 Studio 110.

  2. Thinning the herd I'm afraid...

Drive, compressor, DI. Although it's essentially Dug Pinnick's sound in a box about the size of 2 decks of cards, it's pretty versatile.

Pedal is in good condition. No original tin I'm afraid and is supplied with an aftermarket 9v supply.

    £200 plus postage.

Edit: sorry folks, I'm not taking trades at the minute.

The ZOOM B1Four , at the end of your board or just use it on its own. Hours of silent fun.

Had one. More than I need. Not looking for a multi-fx.

    Behringer P2. I think.

Well it does the headphone amp bit, but nothing else...

TC Electronic Spectradrive.  Aux in, headphone, xlr, toneprint compressor and overdrive, and not a bad price s/h.

Had one. Suppose it's a possibility...

There is a Palmer pre-amp pedal in the classifieds (either in effects or accessories threads) that might suit your application.

    I'll look into that one...

  4. Hi guys, I'm currently using a little Behringer Xenyx 302 mixer as a glorified headphone amp but I'm looking for something a bit smaller that I can leave hooked up semi-permanently on my pedal board. Any suggestions? As small as possible, run from pedal supply, aux in are all necessities, xlr/jack combo input would be great, volume for each input ideally...

Edit: I realise I'm basically describing a Darkglass Element, but I'm looking for something WAY cheaper than that...

  5. Don't even remember buying this one... Not much to say other than it sounds pretty nice, if that's your thing, just isn't mad enough for me - but I have a Sea Machine clone here awaiting build so that'll cover me! A few little cosmetic marks that I've tried to photograph.

    £50 plus post.

Only trades I'm considering at the minute are for an EMG PJ pickup set (complete) or a Tonepump preamp (trim pot version only), a Tonepump preamp (trim pot version only) or a Darkglass Element or similar pedalboard headphone amp.

  6. Ditto looper for sale. Small and dead easy to use. I only ever used it to record a short loop for setting tones with my other effects without having to play continuously. A wee bit of discoloration on the finish of this one for some reason but doesn't effect its function. Velcro on the back. £45 plus postage.
