Great to see him building instruments again. A batch of 5. I wonder if these are effectively prototypes and there might a be cheaper Made in China version in the not too distant future. I’d be interested in that!
They're not doing import basses any more...

How have you partitioned this up to separate the basses @Beedster?
-
Oh... Wish you were closer! Something else to add to my list of filters on Facebook marketplace and gumtree...

Don't know anything about it and haven't downloaded it yet myself, but UA are giving away Polymax Synth for a limited time: https://www.uaudio.com/products/polymax-synth

These are awesome. While I've owned other preamp pedals this one just hits a little different!

Recently bought a GK PLex preamp from Paddy. Possibly the most useful bit of kit I've bought in many a year! And the transaction was smooth as the proverbial. Wouldn't hesitate to deal again!

Aw man that Spector Forte is back at BassBros again... Haunting me it is! Haunting me I tell you...

I'm a 2 tuning peg man on all my basses and it's always worked for me, although that can leave a lot of excess on the G string tuner on a P bass... When you talk about lining up silks I think "there be dragons"... You're only a step away from wanting all your tuning keys lining up...

What do you call cheap? I bought a used Westfield P bass for 20 quid locally a few years ago. Perfectly serviceable with a setup that I did myself.
You'll be able to find a multitude of named used basses for under £100, all of which will be a better bet that something from DH Gate. All it takes is patience.

Still available?

Maybe a bit late but GHS Brite Flats maybe?
-
Paying quite a premium over the "normal" cobalt flats from Ernie Ball... Be interested to hear what the difference is beyond custom gauges...

If you're all on IEMs... Why wouldn't he want you to sound the best you can? He can sound like whatever he wants through his monitors... Ego or idiot?

If he's not willing to compromise, walk away. Or buy your own mixer and have ultimate say!

Oh interesting- but I guess if they have already reduced it maybe they are properly not going to budge.
I'm absolutely terrible at haggling I wouldn't know what to say to him.
Yes from northern ireland too
Harder to say no to an offer in person I find. If you're going to try it out maybe mention you know it's been advertised for a while. It's a buyers market so offer what you're willing to and be prepared to walk away. It's still a bit rich at that price, limited edition or not. It'd be that price used from Bass Direct or BassBros.

They have stated they are firm with 1.6k so I think I will ask to give it a try as they are also collection only and not too far away.
Tonepump pre in both so at the very least I can get a play and see if I can warm to it
Yeah black crown inlays with DR black beauty strings on it id wager.
They may state that they're firm at 1.6k, but it was originally listed for more so there may still be wiggle room - been watching that one myself!
You'd from Norn Iron too Steve?

Oooh... So tempted... And only up the road a bit...

I remember discussing this bass with somebody in the Gallery workshop (can't recall the chaps name, but it wasn't Martin) shortly after it was built. It was commissioned by a guy who was a helicopter pilot. He wanted the maximum string tension Martin could possibly give him. I'm sure there was more information imparted at the time but that's all I can recall.

Why a tiny little fiddly thing that needs expensive parts?
well this is it compared to a 1590a size pedal - slightly wider - untill you plug something in
and here is it compared to a 125b side - think standard size for a walrus pedal
so it can take up way less space than a larger pedal. I think if they had side jacks that clashed you could fit two of these in the space of a 1590b MXR size enclosure. That’s with EBS Gold cables too!
the downside is fiddlyness more expensive parts and probably not being able to use just any patch lead!!
That’s EBS gold cables and a Cioks power cable.
WANT!

You know the time you first solder a project together, and it works, and it sounds great, and it makes up for all the "oh crap why did I make it in such a small enclosure?" moments...
Prunes and Custard in a Gorva M45 (5mm or so wider than 1590A) with top jacks. Printed by Gojira...
I think I've missed the wire earthing the input when off, and the bass cut switch might actually be on in the down position... (but it's fairly subtle)
But I'm pretty happy with that.
Camera died before I could show what top jacks look like... It's also tiny.Got parts and enclosures for another 5
Oh and after 10+ years my solder sucker broke. That looks mighty! If you decide you're going to do a run I might be interested!

Remember it. The seemingly monthly picture of the Wall of Wals in Guitarist magazine was always worth a drool! They had an early association with Jon Shuker too as I recall...
