1. Up... No one interested in a killer rig that looks awesome?
  2. A lovely all original 60s or 70s fender precision in sunburst.
  3.
Gigrig Power Generator system.
+20000
  4. For a professional gigging and recording bass player I think it is. Unless you want to go down the profiling amp route... I think it's very doable to gig and even record with a good quality DI and/or preamp and no amp but then it starts to boil down to personal preference. I like feeling the weight of my notes behind me and don't have to worry about my monitor mixes as much as I would if I was just using a DI.
Just a word of caution. The Guma drive is NOT a good kit for a beginner. There are a few surface mount components involved - I wouldn't attempt that at home and I'm an electronic engineer with years of experience dealing with SMT! I have all the right tools at work so I'll be doing that portion there. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the darkglass sound, but I'm going to build both the Guma and Antique anyway (still waiting for payday Si! Not long left now...) as I could see me using them on occasion, just not enough to warrant owning either of the real thing!
Interesting, what is stopping you from attempting the SMD soldering at home? I'm a huge Darkglass fan so I'm very attracted to this kit because I'd actually use the pedal a lot. Do you really think it's no wise to have a bash?

Totally new to this thread and building pedals! (Why isn't there a different section for this!?) So I've ordered myself a Klone clone kit for a bit of fun when I haven't got much going on just to test the waters but I'm now eyeing up the Guma Drive kit. where do you guys find these kits online? I've had a look round fuzz dog. Also do you guys have any recommendation for solder and flux when working on PCBs?
  8. Looking to trade my Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 and my DB112 (with tweeter) in the stunning white hot livery. Neither of the these bits of kit need any introductions and I'm sure you know about them. Both in brilliant condition. The cab has a couple of marks for gigs and the head is in full working order. The pair just aren't getting the love they deserve at the moment. I believe the cab is 8ohms. SOLD Trades; I'm after: Valve heads, passive 4 stringers, stingrays, Darkglass B7K ultra, TWA Great divid, any interesting pedals What have you got? I reckon the trade value is around £800. I will not ship this outside of the UK. Sorry folks!
  9.
A better relic job than the majority of Limelights ive seen!
Seriously!? I can't believe this is up for a eye watering £700!?
  10.
Be positive - that means less neck dive, surely..?
I'm positive. My precision never had any neck dive to start with
  11. All fitted. I must say I was a bit apprehensive about the bridge at first. So far so good. I've now got a super low action with minimal buzz. The darker tone comments make a bit more sense now. It does appear to smooth everything over. My precision has a nice rich creamy tone now but still retains that classic full open P snarl. I'm tempted to get a couple more to fit to my other basses now! It does add a fair bit of weight in my opinion though.
  12. From what you guys are saying I might be investing the in stainless saddles... If I can find them in the UK? I got the bridge yesterday so I'm hoping to get it fitted tonight. Initial thoughts are that it does feel a tiny bit cheap (when comparing the price you pay for them) The packaging surprised me. Just a flimsy card box - unlike their Xtenders smart presentation. I might do a in depth review once it's up and running, I was struggling to find much online when searching
  13.
Yes! I was wondering wether I was going to give some sort of update. With the bridge installed I noticed some improved sustain, but there was nothing wrong sustain-wise with the old bridge, so it didn't really stand out to me. The sound was drastically different, though, from - I don't know - something familiar and stodgy like steak and potatoes to something more syrupy like coffee liqueur, if that makes any sense. However, with the new bridge, I was able to lower the action quite dramatically, which brought back the highs - so much so that I'm now considering lowering the pickups. Strings feel a bit tauter too. Maybe that's my imagination or maybe those things are related. All in all it's a brilliant bridge, as far as I'm concerned. It's simple, adjustable and it sounds great. I dig it! Just remembered: I lent my bass to the bassist of one of my bands (in which I play guitar). The drummer noted the clarity and transparency of my bass. Unsolicited, mind.
I'm with you, sounds like a good upgrade. Certainly a upgrade based on the improved adjustability and reliability more than a sonic part for my self. I'll post my thoughts once mine lands in the post box.

  15.
Got mine in the mail today. Took me all of 15 minutes to pop it on and set it up. There's something quite groovy about it, but it sounds a lot (a lot!) darker than the vintage style bridge that used to be on there. Plays lovely though, maybe I'll get some of those brighter sounding inserts some day...
Interesting to hear about it sounding darker? Slightly worried by this... Any improvements on tone minus the darker sound? Mine should be arriving tomorrow (fingers crossed)
  16. This is how my rig looks at the moment.. Going to have a proper read through all your comments tonight!
  17.
Cheers. I think ill be doing the same. Im going for a nice black one for my Sandblasted P bass :-)
No worries, let me know if you want the link to the one I got. I can't wait to replace my standard fender bridge...
  18.
Damn, Monday morning GAS!!! Dan, if you find a place closer to us cna you please let me know.
