  1. A pair of planet Waves jack to jacks with gold plated jack ends. 20ft in length, superb condition, selling cos I've switched to obbm's cables and have no space to keep these...

A great upgrade from piranha and other brands, were £25 each when new, they've had very light use and show no signs of any wear...

£15 each incl postage or £25 for the pair? offers...?

I eventually chose the Aspiration Elite and aside form a bit of light fret work and a set up, it's being gigged regularly and sounds excellent. Here's a pic of it in action :)

the mahogany one yes? looks purdy!

  3. Bought this recently from oldslapper, this is a USA G&L, a real one, noticeably better than the tribute ones (nice as they are!), it's lovely but doesn't do a different enough job from my Ray5 to warrant it being a keeper...the sound is fat and strong, the Ernie Ball flats on it don't compromise any of the available top end, it still slaps really well!

Black with Rosewood fingerboard, single humbucking pickup, significantly more output than Musicman equivalent (had to back of preamp gain a couple of notches!)...

One very very minor ding on the end of the headstock (barely noticeable - more of a slight indentation, you can only spot it by running your finger over it) and one mark in the finish on the upper horn. Nothing whatsoever to affect sound or playability.

The balance is superb as usual from G&L, the neck is fantastic to play (nice and fast), played it at one practice and really enjoyed it, as I said before though it just doesn't sound different enough from my Ray5...

  4. I know this kind of thing occasionally happens on a local scale but...

Krispn recently offered me the loan of the Wren & Cuff Pickle Pie B as he'd seen me espressing an interest in it but knew it wouldn't normally be possible for me to try it out without buying it from the States first...

Not only that but he lives in Edinburgh and I live in Sheffield so he offered to post it to me, gave me a timeframe for the loan and the duly sent it!

I made sure he'd got several phone numbers for me (work, home, mobile etc) and he did likewise.

The pedal arrived as promised I tried it out, was really impressed by it and will probably buy one as soon as I find a US dealer who'll look after me...

    The short version is...

This was really helpful for me to be able to AB my then current pedal (now sold) with my prospective pedal and enabled me to make a properly informed decision!

Wouldn't this be a spectacular idea to encourage?

Is it worthy of it's own sub-forum? 'Gear I'd like to try' or something? Is it possible to restrict posting in a sub-forum to 'no longer a newbie' or 'fully fledged members' as a regular user's privilege?

Pedals are easily and cheaply posted so national loans shouldn't be a problem?

Guitars and amps would work best locally so it would really help if everyone stated their location in their profile information...

    Whaddaya think?

  5. My EBS Dynaverb, mint condition, alas no box, it does have a euro plug dc power supply though...

Lovely analog sounding reverb effect, great for fretless, I don't have a fretless anymore though...
