I have changed allegiance to Lakland strings (to continue using what's on my bass alread) so these will go unused now.

£19 each posted within UK? (or £55 for all 3?)

2. I like the idea of one but haven't used one in years since I borrowed a bass with one in the mid 90's...in fact, I've got a rosewood thumbrest/tugbar complete with screws in my drawer at home that I bought for something or other but never fitted if anyone's interested, I paid £8.50 for it earlier this year and it's only been out of the bubble wrap once when I checked it arrived before it went in the drawer...

I remember :) it well Andy.

Whilst doing the trade a little voice in my head was saying "what are you doing fool". Posting £600 worth of bass without any guarantee is not mormally something i would do. Never had a problem. Everyone i have dealt with has been a complete gentleman(woman). Long may it continue.

Absolutely matey! and likewise with the little voice of 'reason', the few chats we had reassured me no end!

4. I've had nothing but good experiences on here!
My first trade was to mutually post guitars on the same day, neither of us had any feedback so we chatted on the phone and exchanged contact details etc, everything went swimmingly!
I've had money bank transferred and have done likewise, paypal you name it...

The icing on the cake was when Krispn posted me a Pickle Pie-b from Glasgow just so I could have a look at it to know whether I'd like to buy one (not his cos it wasn't for sale), sheer brilliance on his part! I did buy one in the end and I got it back intime for his next band practice too!

I've only dealt with solid, helpful, genuine folk on here an dlong may it continue!

5. So this is for Lefties who play lefty, not lefties like me who learned to play righty for convenience and cheap-er-ness of guitars...

Let no-one call you cack-handed! Stand up for your right to play southpaw/upside down back to front/however you wish!

Up the Sinistro!!

6. Sam just bought my beloved and trusty Stingray5, paid swiftly, sorted out issues with the paypal fees immediately and helped me find the best deal for the shipping, all in all a very pleasant selling experience for my part and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone in the future!

7. yes I had it (even though I hate tennis), I basically had to rest it completely for about 3 months and take regular ibuprofen to reduce swelling, it gradually went away and having gradually reintroduced activities (like playing bass - oddly drumming never caused it to even twinge!) I am now back at full speed with everything and no longer have the pain (except infreuqnelty if I've been stupid).

Feels fine - doesn't feel unbalanced at all. And the double case can be handy if you're travelling - take one bass and use the other section for clothes. :)

Superb, thanks matey!

9. I've been wanting to ask someone about them, how easy is it to just put one bass in them? ie do they feel unbalanced or odd if you do that and would you therefore have a single gig bag for those occasions?

I'd like a dbl gig bag but sometimes I really only need one bass?

Has anyone tried this please?

Andy

I used to use Lakland nickels and loved them. You can order Lakland strings direct from their website. I felt they were pretty close to XL's, my favourite string. They were pretty cheap, especially if you order a couple of packs at the same time. I tihnk they were about £21 inc postage for a 5 string set back the.
I did try the SS strings and did like them, they did seem a bit mellower than the usual SS i've tried in the past.

I think they are made by GHS, and some people say you might as well just get those but i couldnt find an identical set so wne tfor the Laklands.

That's fab, thanks Dave!

...apparently they put D'addario's on the Skyline series now...the strings on mine have coloured ball-ends, just been confirmed by Brian Gingrich at Lakland! Presume they're cheaper than the GHS made ones in this time of squeezed margins!

11. I've recently bought a Lakland 55-01 Ltd edition and am loving it!

I see from the Lakland website that it has Lakland strings (LCWS5 strings - 5 string medium 45-128), these are stainless steel strings whereas I normally use Nickel ones...

I do however really like them (mostly because they don't quite feel like stainless strings to me, more like a halfway house, less harsh than steel but still very snappy sounding), has anyone tried the Lakland Nickel ones and are they any good?

I've seen another Lakland string topic (http://basschat.co.uk/topic/116410-lakland-replacement-strings/page__p__1072372__hl__lakland__fromsearch__1#entry1072372) but it doesn't really cover the what or the 'how nice' of the strings as it focuses mainly on the 'where do I get them'...

12. One brand new pack of unused, unopened and still sealed up, factory fresh Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky Bass Strings 45-105.

I no longer have a 4 string bass I would use these on.

£16.50 a set new (or £15.50 if you buy more than 3) from HotRox UK.

(a bit blurry but you get the idea!)

£12.50 posted within UK?
